When I first heard about Smallville, I was very hesitant to give the show a chance. A show that took place before Clark Kent became 슈퍼맨 seemed like a big step in the wrong direction. I feared it would be the most underwhelming 슈퍼맨 show ever, so I avoided it for over a decade.

After giving the show a chance, I can say that I'm happy to be proven wrong. If anything, I feel regret over not giving 스몰빌 a fair chance when I first heard about it.

Smallville is a show that takes place when Clark Kent is a high schooler. He has superpowers, but he doesn't yet know how to control them....

Usually when 스몰빌 themes are on Clark, Kandorian's and Heroes, with the exclusion of Lois, things wind down. I didn't expect to like this episode so much, especially without Lois' presence. Although I believe since Lois and Clark are official, it's hard to imagine any episode without some Lois reference, but that played a minor role with Amanda Waller, and the Hero reference placed at the forefront. I understand Waller's character from staying tuned into Justice League, so there were close similarities. Waller from Justice League was determined and obsessed with government policies and...

Terence Stamp as General Zod in 슈퍼맨 II
Terence Stamp as General Zod in Superman II
I actually liked Zod a lot 더 많이 during and after this episode, Conspiracy. Before this ep, whenever there was Zod screentime I would usually say "Oh brother!" I didn't really like how Callum Blue plays Zod, upping the drama and decorum of speech. I would think, "bah this is Smallville, not Shakespeare." He's no Terence Stamp, who I found to be much scarier because of his excellent use of subtlety. ¯(º_o)/¯

However, something changed in me this episode. We saw a different side to Zod. And somehow, his method of 연기 fit better with these new facets.

 Zod learns about humanity
