It was long 이전 when the decision was made.
"SkyClan is leaving the forest to find a better 집 elsewhere," announced Cloudstar sadly at the Gathering.
"But, Cloudstar! SkyClan is one of the five Clans!" yowled someone. The rest of the 고양이 joined in. There was an uproar of protest.
Cloudstar flicked his tail once for silence.
He began to speak slowly and carefully. "Leaf-bare is coming soon. The SkyClan territory is shrinking due to the Twolegs building their dens on our territory. I'm sure none of the other four Clans would like to give up their hunting grounds for the sake of my Clan; am I correct?" He didn't wait for an answer. "We are leaving tomorrow morning."
With that, the grayish-white leader jumped off of the Great Rock and left with his dying Clan. Yowls of protest began among the other four Clans. Little did they know they would be the only four Clans.
Word was spread throughout ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan about SkyClan's departure. No one was for certain that Cloudstar was really leaving the forest. But he was.
The SkyClan camp was a bustling madhouse that night. Lilyheart, the medicine cat, was struggling to prepare traveling herbs for the entire Clan in the dead of leaf-bare. But she had no idea how long the Clan would be traveling 또는 how far. No one did. Her apprentice, Morningpaw, was sent with two warrior apprentices to 검색 the entire territory for any herbs at all. They also raided the Twoleg's gardens for any catmint in case anyone caught the dreaded greencough.
Also, any warriors who weren't packaging supplies into bundles went out to hunt the forest and surrounding unclaimed territory. The parties only brought back six mice and seven birds. It was not enough to feed the entire Clan. But they would have to do. The prey was packaged up with bundles of herbs that would keep it fresh for longer so that the Clan could pick at it over time.
The entire camp was raided 의해 its own warriors. Even building supplies, along with moss, was packaged up and brought with them. Water was collected from the streams running through the territory, and that was packaged too. Every warrior and apprentice had something to carry.
"Is everybody ready?" asked Cloudstar in the early hours of the morning.
A chorus of yes's was the reply.
"Off we go. I would like to speak with my deputy as we leave the forest."
Cloudstar led his Clan out of the camp, out of the place all of them were born, the place they felt comfortable in. They left their home, a place that was once filled with heartiness and laughter. It was the place they knew, and the place they thought they'd always live in. They left a safe, warm happy place with heavy hearts. They left all of this for a life of uncertainty and despair.
