Skipper woke up late that morning. He waddled to the sleeping Private. A smile came across his face as he stroked Private's head with his gentle flipper. Private opened his eyes sluggishly.
P: "Good morning, Skippah."
S: "Good morning, did 당신 sleep well last night?"
P: "Yes, I did. Did you?"
S: "Yeah, 당신 want to see the colony today?"
P: "Okay!"
S: "I'm going to get breakfast. Remember all the rules."
P: "Can I come?"
S: "No, not yet. I don't think you're ready now."
P: "I've fished in the pond at 집 before."
S: "Yes, but there aren't those carnivorious beast there."
P: "I can handle it. Believe me. I escaped seals when I took Hunter home."
S: "Yeah, but what happened when 당신 put your guard down?"
Private sighed.
P: "I got captured and almost eaten."
S: "Exactly."
P: "But 당신 were captured too."
S: "I know, but I'd rather have something happen to me than you."
P: "Be careful,"
S: "Goodbye, Private. I'll be back in a little bit, I promise."
P: "Okay,"
Private wrapped his flippers around Skipper.
Skipper soon went on his way. Private watched him until he jumped into the water. From his 침대 he grabbed his lunacorn toy and got into a 요람, 크래들 postition, rocking back and forth.
P: "Oh, Princess Self-respectra, what do I do if Skipper doesn't come back?!"
A thud came from deeper into the cave. Private turned and gazed at the dark rest of the cave. Private's curiousity grew as he jumped onto his feet. He took a trembling step forward.
P: "Hello? Anyone back there?"
Private took a torch and crept cautiously forward. When he got deeper in he bumped into a large mound of snow. It was so big that it could fit two adult penguins. Adjacent to it was another mound of snow, but higher it was supposed to be a dresser. In front of it was a dusty book on the floor. That must have fell. Private picked it up. Inscripted on it was the word: Diary. Private made his way back to the 침대 and sat down to read. It read:
May 7th
Dear Diary,
Today was one of the best days of my life! My long time sweetheart, Skipper, preposed. He's in the miltary, but says he's ready to start a family. I can't wait for that special day!
Private was shocked. Suddenly he heard footsteps coming from the entrance of the cave. Private rushed up.
S: "I'm home!"
P: "Yay!"
S: "I got breakfast too."
Once they finished breakfast, they were ready to meet the colony outside. Private raced toward the entrance of the cave, but Skipper grasped his flipper.
S: "You never rush outside the cave. There could be danger remember. Stay here until I call you."
Skipper took a cautious step outside. His head turned to the right. After a while he turned his head a stared left.
S: "Alright, Private."
Private leaped into the dense snow. Laying on his back, he moved his flippers and legs back and forth.
P: "Look I'm making a 'snow angel', Skippah!"
Skipper chuckled. Private got up to his feet as they headed forward. Skipper waddled up to four other penguins. The shortest one, about Skipper's height talked.
?: "Hey look who it is!"
The rest chimed in, including another 펭귄 with a flat head.
?: "Skipper, what happened?"
?: "Wow, somebody's gained some weight."
S: "Shut up. Private these are my old teamates Kendall, James, Kevin, and Jeff."
Kendall was the short one. The one with the flat head was Kevin, and Jeff was the skinniest, who made the rude remark. James was the most muslucar, who didn't talk much.
Ke: "Who's this little fella?"
S: "This is Private."
Kev: "Is he your son?"
Private looked at Skipper with an innocent smile.
S: "Yes,"
Ken: "Maybe, he'd be elated to meet my daughter. Alex, come here a minute!"
Private watched as a luminious 펭귄 gracefully sprinted up with three other penguins behind her. Her radiant feathers shined under the sun. Her two hazel eyes sparkled as she looked at him. When she stopped she was out of breath.
A: "Hi, I'm Alex, and you?"
P: "P-private, nice to meet you, Alex."
A: "Hmm, Private, I like that name."
A larger 펭귄 stepped 다음 to her with his flippers at his sides in threatening fists. His dark blue eyes fixed on Private, he glared intensely.
?: "And I'm her boyfriend, Damion."
Alex sighed.
Je: "That's my boy! Tough as nails,"
The other three were smaller, and seemed to have full attention on Damion.
D: "Come on, let's go!"
Damion gestured toward his friends. They all headed off except Alex and Private.
A: "Are 당신 coming? I promise Damion won't hurt you. If he does he'll have me to talk to."
D: "Alex!"
A: "Coming!"
P: "Sure, but can I ask 당신 something?"
They started waddled to the others
A: "Why n-"
D: "Whatcha guys talking about?"
P: "Oh, nothing."
D: "Really, cause I think it's something!"
A: "Trust me, Damion."
Damion leaned over and whispered into Private's earhole intensely.
D: "It's a good thing for you, chubby. That I don't want to get my flippers dirty in front of Alex. Unless it's a fight 당신 want you'll get it anytime, anywhere."
P: "Alex isn't a prize, Damion! She can make her own desicions!"
Damion grasped Private's chest hardly and held him in the air. He pulled his whole flipper back ready to 펀치 Private. When a noise came from the far right of the crowd: bang!
