Contains 1 OC-but this story is about Dr. Blowhole. And the Penguins. And the Zoo. And Love, good, evil. Pirates. Lobsters....Look, this list will go on forever, so I'm just going to get started.
Well, after Dr. B got defeated, things went a little crazy. The push of a button can change one life drastically.
Prolouge:
The last thing he could remember was a clown spewing purple light into his face.
Then, confused voices. Somethign about a "transfigurator" and " why would he keep that in there?"
In fact, these were his only memories. Slowly his dark brown eye opened. White. White walls, bedsheets, the thick smell of ...clean.
He slowly sat up, balancing his weight on his hands.Hands? HANDS?
Why did that sound so wrong? The word made his stomach flip. Why did his flexing thumb strike wonder and nauseu into him?
After thinking and moving every muscle in his strange body, he concluded that he was not dreaming, and that this was truly his body.
" Oh, good your awake!"
A sweet-as-syrup voice sounded, bringing him out of the studies of his own anatomy. Another being...a human female...a woman!
She was slightly chubby and had round face adorned with a button nose and large chocolate-brown eyes. Her carrot hair was tied back in a small bun, but a few strand fell onto her face and framed her many freckles.
He wondered whether the heat in his face was a normal response to human females.
He watched her as she worked, pulling out needles gingerly, replacing the gauze strips over where his right eye would be, and replacing his IV.She talked about weather and the beauty of spring.
He had barely begun to register her occupation was "nurse" when he saw she was turning to leave.
" Wait!" He blurted.
She turned, looking puzzled, yet still had that sweet smile.
" Yes, sweetie?"
" What's your name?"
" Jenny...and yours?"
He smiled widely, almost arragontly. She would be very impressed when she heard who he was. He was, after all...
after all...he was...somebody.
" My name..." he muttered. Of course he knew his own name! Didn't it ryhme with pippy? No, that wasn't it. Snowblow? No. No!
" I...I don't know...that's not normal, is it?"
It wasn't a question, but a fact that slowly came to being. He ought to know who he was.
She walked back over, the taps of her high-heel shoes matching his fast-paced breathing.
" Don't panic." She said soothinly. " 당신 must have suffered some sort of head trauma. Tell me anything 당신 might know about yourself."
The last part was recited as if straight from an instruction textbook. Good. She knew exactly how to help him then.
So, he began to dig. What came up in his mind 더 많이 than anything else? Monochromatic, web-footed...yes, that and the clown face with purple barf-light.
" Something black and white, flightless, with webbed feet...pen-gu-in?"
" Oh, 당신 mean a penguin."
" Yes, Pen-gu-in."
" Penguin." She corrected him again.
He paused, feeling a bit angry. He sure he was right. But he didn't even realize he had toes when he had awoken. Perhaps the nurse who knew what she was doing was better to trust than his own mind.
" Yes. You're right. Something about penguins...and involuntary singing?"
" Sounds like quite the dream! 당신 have been out for nearly a week though. Your brain is a little bit fuzzy. But now we know what to do, so 당신 just sit tight, 'kay?"
She patted his hand, he hadn't realized she had been holding it as he struggled against the blocks in his own mind. That was very kind of her. Unnecessary, but kind.
Could it have been a dream though? It was only a vague idea, but it felt like truth. Yet, she knew who she was, and he did not know who he was. She had been caring for him when he barely knew what he was. These were facts, not vague ideas and feelings, and he could count on facts.
Nothing, not even his own mind, could be trusted 더 많이 than her at this point. His entire world consisted of Nurse Jenny, his few confused memories, and his fascinating thumbs and toes. Since his digits couldn't think, and his brain was fuzzy, Nurse Jenny would be his guide through...whatever it was he was going through.
Satisfied with his conclusion ( though he deemed it temporary till 더 많이 facts revealed themselves), he returned to observing the fascinating digits on his hands and feet, and wondered about doorknobs and dancing.
