Bella's POV

Who's Jane? She does sound familiar though.
Oh... my undercover mom's name. Right. But this "Jane" doesn't look like the Jane I know. This Jane is smaller, almost childlike. I wonder where Jane is, but I will ask Tom later.

I can clearly see that she's a vampire. Have pale skin, glowing red eyes, glittering skin, just like me. Is she also a newborn?
"Hello, Jane." Edward said formally.
Why did he address her in such a formal matter?
Is she like a Queen? I think not. I held back a hiss. There MUST be a reason Edward sound like she was worshiping her.
I looked at Tom, he was terrified, and was laying down on a rock. Shouldn't that hurt?

I turned my attention back to Jane. She smiled an evil grin and looked at Edward. Edward fell on the ground, wincing. I looked at him at horror, I hated seeing him in pain.
"STOP!" I screamed at her.
Jane turned her glare from Edward to me. Edward stood up right away and was at my side in less than a second. I looked at him.
"Are 당신 ok?" I whispered to him.
"I'm fine." he said.
I looked back at Jane.

She was staring at me with the same expression as she was to Edward. I braced myself for the pain. Nothing happened. Jane's evil grin turned into a frown. Her eyebrows pushed together in concentration.
Then a hand touched her shoulder. She stopped trying to attack me.
"Don't fret dear one. We aren't here to fight against our own kind." he said to her.
"Yes master." she said.
Then I got a better look at the "master." He was tall, and looked... ancient. There was a boy 다음 to the man. He seemed to be the same height as Jane. He had almost the exact face as Jane. If I wasn't mistaken, they are twins.

I looked at Edward in confusion. "Who are these people?" I whispered.
"The boy that looked like Jane is Alec. The taller man is Aro." he whispered back.
I looked at each one of them, and they seemed to be like us, despite their dark 망토, 망 토 and glowing red eyes.

"Ah Edward! It's nice to meet 당신 again!" Aro greeted cheerfully.
"Hello Aro. What are 당신 doing here in San Diego on this sunny day?" Edward asked.
"We heard that our secret is exposed. I supposed that we shall be 더 많이 careful 다음 time?" he said.
"It was foolish of us to be roaming in the sun in this type of weather. We didn't expect that any human was watching us." Edward said.
Aro nodded.

Then Aro turned to look at me.
"And who is this?" Aro asked. "I see that she is a newborn!"
"Do 당신 want me to talk for you?" Edward asked me.
"I will speak for myself." I said.
I moved one step 앞으로 to Aro.
"My name is Bella. Isabella Swan." I said simply.

"We are the Volturi."
