I've always loved Dan lol. Despite how much they write him as an arrogant ass... he's always been that character that I "love to hate". OTH has always been about great friendships, and cheesy/loving couples, so I thought his character kind of added that little bit of edge to the show, and completed it in a way. Plus his smartass comments always made me laugh :)
