But ultimately, I let Lucas off the hook a little bit... because I know that his actions were just a result of him trying to avoid getting hurt again, by Peyton. She had hurt him really bad 4 years before that... and he was just trying to gaurd his heart this time around. No, he shouldn't have led Peyton on (kissing her at tric, ect.), but I do think his actions were validated at times, in order to keep from possibly getting hurt again by her. My heart went out to him at times, because clearly he was conflicted between what he really wanted to do (be with Peyton again), VS. what he thought he needed to do, in order to avoid possible heartbreak again (stay with the safer choice, Lindsey).

However, I think Haley was flat out selfish in season 2. There was no excuse for her actions. She was MARRIED to Nathan. and she chose music over her own husband... despite knowing his ultimatum of them being finished, if she left. But she left anyway, and went against his wishes NUMEROUS times. That's not what a marraige is about. Yes, maybe Nathan shouldn't have made her choose between him or music, but he did. and at the end of the day... she chose to temporarily be a rockstar, over the man that she agreed to commit to for a lifetime. Selfish.

i didnt thnk luke was THAT bad in s5. really he didnt do anything wrong excpet make out with peyton loll. peyton was the terrible one in s5. but haley, i couldnt stand in s2. she was super selfish and broke nathans heart.

Haley might have followed her dreams and sure she didnt do it the right way but she shouldnt of had to choose. Im a HUGE Naley fan so trust me, I was PISSED. But I see her side.
Lucas just ugh, kissing Peyton was so wrong, plus the thing that pissed me off most about him was the fact that he took "someday" as a flat out NO. Nathan waited for Haley and sure, she might of had to work for him (which was worth it and Im glad she had to work for him) but Nathan never truly gave up. Lucas gave up after one word. RUDE.

I'm with Kaitie on this. Lucas just gave up. Nathan never gave up on Haley. He just wanted Haley to fight for him afterwards.

I just can't hate Haley for leaving on tour coz she finally did something for herself: she pursued her dream. Oh wow, that's a tragedy! But maybe I'm just living in the wrong century, you know...where women are strong and independent and actually have own rights?! ^^ I think Nathan should've never given her an ultimatum like "me or the tour" in the first place! That was simply ridiculous.
And Lucas...well, as much as I dislike his character lol...I wouldn't say that he pissed me off in season 5. Why should I, I don't even like him and I don't really like Leyton so why would I bother? xD All he did was moving on, he thought Peyton had left him for good so he decided to be with Lindsey. Well, and we all know what happened then ( : Actually Peyton was the one who pissed me off in season 5 =P

Defintely Lucas though I understood that he wanted to guard his heart the way he went about it was so wrong.Especially the part where he gave up when he asked Peyton to marry him at 19 and when she said "someday" for some reason he took it as "no and never". That was messed up in my mind and Peyton was also at fault in s5 but Lucas really pissed me off that season. As for Haley,yes she was married,and yes she left her husband to pursue her singing career.But there was no reason for Nathan to give her an ultimatum...let me remind you that these two were still in high school and were still trying to get there own identities in place and at that time "going on the tour" was what Haley wanted to do.She should have gone about it a different way and I felt bad for Nathan but what ultimately made me not hate Haley that season was because of the ultimatum Nathan gave her.I'm just glad her and Nathan patched things up!

Totally Lucas. I mean I was pretty pissed at Haley for what she did but she was only following her dreams. Sure it was bad timing but if she hadn't of gone, she might have regretted it. Also, her and Nathan may not have stayed together because I either read or heard in a commnetary with Mark Schwahn that he believes that Jamie was conceived on the night that Naley finally got back together {3x09} but that night wouldn't have happened if the tour hadn't have happened.

So what Haley did is forgivable because she was young and following her dreams. She never stopped loving Nathan and tried to come home on several occasions. I also believe that it was Nathan who signed the annulment papers first too. However Lucas was just being a complete jerk in S5.

We all know that Lucas is extremely indecisive but was he serious in Season 5. He kissed Peyton, then proposed to Lindsey. He wrote a book aout his love for Peyton, then said 'I do' to Lindsey despite Peyton's sacrifice speech (which still breaks my heart). Then to top it all off, he tells Peyton that he hates her. Surely she had been through enough, he didn't need to add a stupid statement like that even if he was drunk. Peyton never said 'No' to him, she said 'Someday' but he just gave up on them. He can annoy the hell out of me sometimes. It always seems to be Peyton who is fighting more for their relationship.

Anyway Lucas pissed me off more!

Lucas never made me mad... lol But I'm guessing he made Lp-ers mad which I can see. But Haley on the other hand. I hated her for S2. UGH!
