S3 ends and S4 begginings was a total build-up for Leyton to come back! Mark did an amazing job with them..Like..Peyton admits her feelings..Brooke has her insecurities again..BL breaks up...Lucas is THERE for Peyton ALWAYS..He CARES and protects her..she's in love with him! WHO DIDN'T SEE IT COMING? I think Mark gave time to BL fans to take their medicine for possible heart-attacks! LMFAO! Just kidding guys..!!!

no i think it fit perfectly to how peyton asked him earlier who he wanted to next him when he dream came true and he said brooke...but when the moment actually happened he realized he wanted peyton and brooke gave her blessing and told him to go.

I've been clear in the past that I thought the chemistry fell short alot of the time in s4, but as for disconnection/lack of flow, I assume you mean storyline wise. and I know 409 was a surprise to many brucas/antileyton fans, but it added up. From season 1, seeds were planted. Season 2's separation showed leyton's problem with being friends. Season 1 really broke them both. So though ppl saw s2's separation as leyton being over it, IMO it was more proof that they had problems being "just friends". It was hard to be around one another. 210 was a testament to that. Season 3 was self explanatory. 301 cemented leyton's longstanding feelings for one another. In 309, though Brucas reunited in love, peyton just kept popping up in brucas' fights: 310 proved that once again, luke chose peyton over brooke. 313 showed that luke may have been repressing his feelings (using the exact same words for brooke as he did for peyton in a love letter a long time ago). 313 also showed how peyton realized she had made a mistake in letting luke go cause she truly did love him. 314 showed Peyton's feelings resurfacing despite her best efforts to keep them in check. And brooke's insecurities about leyton's past were never put to rest despite leyton's repeated attempts to reassure brooke: "The boy I love saved the girl I love, and it's the girl that he loves too.")
And don't get me started on 316/321. Luke later confessed that on some level he knew peyton really loved him when she said what she said in the library. And though his kissing peyton back wasn't a romantic moment, it did show evidence that he loved her too. In the case of 321, this is arguable, but IMO, leyton said they loved eachother - and both meant it.
401 showed how much brooke had grown since season 1 when it came to embracing reality. She faced the truth - her and luke were not meant to be. Their "retry" relationship in s3 made/helped her realize that. 402 was evidence that brooke just didn't love luke anymore - not like she used to. 403 was luke's turning point - he realized he wasn't meant to be with brooke either ("I guess I was wrong. I'm not the guy for you, Brooke Davis"). 408 cemented Brucas closure. They'll always care for one another, and they'll always treasure their history cause they had an amazing love affair, but it fell short in many ways - especially in a longterm sense (very highschool, not longterm, not mature). So Luke's moment of clarity in 409 reaffirmed all brooke's suspicions and all the hints that were given through the series up to that episode.

And as a bonus, why was it that luke wasn't willing to stay away from Peyton upon brooke's request, but was quick to suggest that he and peyton ignore brooke at prom? He just never treated brooke like he did peyton.

Anyhow, this a long conversation, so I'll leave it at that...for now :P
