On the series, which enters its seventh season this fall, Buckley will play Clayton, a brash young sports agent who represents Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) and has become a close friend, ally, business partner and advisor to him while also enjoying the spoils that come from being a wealthy, handsome single guy.
Brian Austin Green was in talks for the role early on, but a deal couldn't be reached.
For Buckley, the casting stems from a talent holding deal he has with "OTH" producer Warner Bros. TV. This past season, he did an arc on another CW/WBTV series, "Privileged."
The upcoming seventh season of "OTH" marks a major transition for the show with the recent departure of two original cast members, Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.
Buckley is probably best known for his role on "Lipstick Jungle," on which he plays photographer assistant Kirby Atwood, Nico's (Kim Raver) boy toy.

The rumblings about Chad Michael Murray leaving One 나무, 트리 언덕, 힐 are not surprising. But please tell me the CW is not foolish enough to let Hilarie 버튼, burton leave, too. — Mr Orange
MATT: What if I told 당신 that perhaps neither actor is leaving? A setsider tells the Buzz that 나무, 트리 언덕, 힐 producers seem to be allowing for such an outcome, seeing as the season finale script makes no reference to Lucas and/or Peyton ... and/or their soon-to-arrive baby/babies ... leaving town.
