Why is everyone so quick to try and excuse Regina's actions? When other characters do bad things they are held to that, so why is Regina a different case? Even Rumplestiltskin is held accountable for bad deeds, even if not to the extent he should be, and aside from him 당신 can rationalize the bad deeds of the evil characters. In my opinion, Regina doesn't have this - her hatred and idea of revenge go way above and beyond reason. It's reasonable for her to have bitterness, mistrust, anger and hate towards Snow because Snow spilling the beans led to the death of Regina's lover, Daniel. Cora was the one who ripped out Daniel's 심장 and crushed it. To focus all that rage and hate on Snow is wrong, and so very obviously wrong that Regina had to know it was and yet she did it anyway. Snow was trying to do right 의해 Regina 의해 telling Cora. She got manipulated 의해 a woman Regina knew to be manipulative when she was a child.

Regina was constantly fucked over in her life, no-one is denying that, but she was also doing dreadful things and was constantly being given 더 많이 chances and mercy. She had so many opportunities and reasons to put it aside and try something different but she never took them. Her rage and bitterness grew to such overwhelming heights that she doomed an entire kingdom of innocent people because she wanted to win for once. She even killed her own father for it, her father who did nothing but 사랑 her unconditionally. She once slaughtered an entire village of strangers because they didn't 사랑 her. Why is it that whenever Regina kills someone 또는 acts evil in any way, the whole fandom rushes to defend her 또는 don't talk about her atrocities? But when it's anyone else they are judged for what they did and treated accordingly. We haven't seen Rumplestiltskin, the Dark One, commit murder on this sort of level and he's lived three hundred years and had his mind and morality twisted 의해 Dark magic.

I think at her core Regina is just selfish, everything she does is for her own gain and she cares little for the other people involved and if she does care she doesn't care enough to not go through with it. The incident with the turnover, for example. Emma was leaving town but Regina wanted Henry's 사랑 all to herself so she was going to poison Emma anyway and have her in a permanent coma. Again, toward the end of season 2, Regina was going to kill the entire town and take Henry to the 마법에 걸린 사랑 Forest using a 사랑 potion to keep him with her. Bloody Hell, she erased his memories. Mind rape isn't exactly something that endears me to a character, and that's what Regina did to an entire kingdom as well as the son she loves dearly. Don't even get me started on how she treated Graham and the moral repercussions of that. Everyone seems to know she did wrong here and they do talk about it but they don't seem to alter their opinions of her despite it.

Don't get me wrong, I find her fascinating and 사랑 having her character on the show but I don't see any reason to like her as a person. I pity her but that's about it.
