This is my take on the SwanFire debate. This is just how I saw what the show was portraying and then got really frustrated with Emma's personality glitch when it came to Neal.

First, Emma was absolutely scarred 의해 what happened. It's why she lied to Henry about his father - she couldn't stand the thought of him finding out what his father had done to her. She made up a story about how his father was a hero who died saving lives.

All her life Emma was completely unloved. As far as she knew at the time she was abandoned as a baby on the side of the road - "[her] parents didn't even care enough to bring [her] to a hospital". She had a family until she was three, but then her adopted parents had a child of their own and "sent [her] back". After that was shunted from foster 집 to foster 집 until she aged out of the system at 16. She was sixteen years old and alone in a big city with no qualifications to speak of, no home, no 프렌즈 또는 family. She was forced to steal if she wanted to live.

Enter Neal, they were together for a 년 또는 two and he looked after her. For the first time in her life she had someone to 사랑 and to 사랑 her. They were going to go to Tallahassee and start a new life together. Then, as far as she knows, he sets the police on her so that he can keep the twenty grand from the stolen watches. She's seventeen/ eighteen years old, pregnant, and in prison. I highly doubt she had an easy time of it there. For the 다음 ten years she is completely alone. As far as we know she had no relationships 또는 connections in that time and if she had 프렌즈 they weren't good enough to keep in contact with after she moved to Storybrooke. The only reason I can see for this is that she simply hasn't been able to trust anyone enough after what Neal did to her. The one time in her life she trusted anyone enough to let him in and he betrayed her, set her up to go to jail for his crime. Even when she gets to Storybrooke she was far 더 많이 comfortable sleeping in her car than accepting Snow's offer of a room in her apartment.

Now, I realise Neal did all this for Emma's own good but she suffered terribly because of it, emotionally and psychologically. I also can't get over the fact that Neal did all this because Pinocchio told him to. The fairy-tale character known for dishonesty, trickery, selfishness etc. He betrayed the woman who trusted him 더 많이 than she had trusted anyone else in her life simply because someone told him to. Neal may have done what he thought was best but that doesn't negate the fact that Emma was deeply hurt.

It doesn't make sense to me that she would forgive him. That she would just let him back into her life after he broke her. With how untrusting and hardened she became after he betrayed her. Compare the Emma we saw in the very first episode before she meets Henry to the Emma we saw in the flashbacks in Tallahassee. There's a massive difference and all that stems from Neal and how after him she was unable to trust anyone else. I definitely don't see them working, 또는 lasting in another romantic relationship because all the while there'd be a nagging 질문 in the back of Emma's mind: "Is he going to leave again?" She wouldn't be able to trust him after what he did, she'll always wonder if some 랜덤 guy says to him that he's getting in the way of her destiny if he'll just up and abandon her again and she won't know why.

This is partly why I like the Hook and Emma interactions so much. Hook would never have left Milah. He loved her too much to hurt her like that - especially on the word of someone like Pinocchio. It's obvious in everything he does that the people he loves are absolutely treasured 의해 him. With how perceptive Emma is she would have seen this, she could have trusted this. When she handcuffed Hook at the 상단, 맨 위로 of the beanstalk she said "I can't take the chance that I'm wrong about you". This all comes back to Neal and her inability to trust people. Hook was also genuinely hurt that she abandoned him, he wouldn't have taken it so badly otherwise. He didn't take it badly that she didn't believe him about the blacksmith ruse 또는 when she was obviously going to leave him to the ogres tied to a tree. This was because she was right, on 상단, 맨 위로 of the beanstalk she wasn't. Emma trusts Hook far 더 많이 quickly than she's trusted anyone else on the show. She opens up to him about her personal life and the event in her life that hurt her 더 많이 deeply than anything else. She hasn't even talked to Mary Margaret about that, but her and Hook are sort of kindred spirits in that they were both irreparably damaged 의해 the loss of someone they loved. 로스트 in different ways but they were still hurt. She left him on the beanstalk because she felt that she could trust him and she was afraid of that.

First and foremost Regina has done so much 더 많이 good than he has. Regina spent 2 seasons working at redemption and I think it paid off whereas Rumple is still lying through his teeth to Belle about how he's a changed man as he goes off to murder Zelena...the woman Regina spared and actually kind of saved. Regina's redemption arc has been really successful to this point. Rump's was a joke. Okay he stabbed Pan and saved everyone at the cost of his own life. That was the right thing to do. However he turned around and went for vengeance again, something Neal wouldn't have wanted done in his name....

Side note:
If Amara wasn't here, and it was just OUAT Emma would probably be here, but there wasn't room for her, considering how gorgeous I find Amara.

5. Ruby
I 사랑 her because she has gone through SO much and she's still one of the kindest/sweetest people in town. That makes her incredibly strong. She's unconditionally helpful to others. Even people she doesn't know that well 또는 people she doesn't seem to like much. She's also such a loyal friend (especially to the Charmings and to Belle). Plus, she is full of personality and I 사랑 her bold style. And whenever she shows up on screen working as a waitress I get reminded to "Twin Peaks", which is something I love. She grabs all the attention. Ruby is also sassy and sexy without even having...

This is a glossary of sorts to my 기사 "Is Killing Ever Justified?". Please read it first link.

OUAT Legal Dictionary

"There are actually 4 kinds of homicide: Felonious, accidental, justifiable, and praiseworthy. It makes little difference to the victim which sort they die of; the classification is mostly for the benefit of lawyers."

By US definition:

homicide n. the killing of a human being due to the act 또는 omission of another. Included among homicides are murder and manslaughter, but not all homicides are a crime, particularly when there is a lack of criminal intent. Non-criminal homicides...

I expect this will get quite a bit of criticism, so a disclaimer before I start: it is not my intention to bash Neal. I'm trying not to find reasons which aren't there and if I saying anything untrue, feel free to correct me. Please don't complain if I say things 당신 just don't like, but if I get something specifically canonically wrong, tell me so.

This post is me trying to articulate exactly why it is I'm not fond of Neal. I'm simply trying to just lay out what it is about him that irks me while being as objective and impartial as I can. Some of this post will overlap with other 기사 and...

Did anyone else see the parallels between the compass in "Tallahassee" and the magic 콩 in "...And Straight On 'Til Morning"?

Both the 콩 and the compass are necessary tools to travel between the worlds and are a symbol of hope. Both items take a lot of hassle to procure - climbing the beanstalk and fighting the giant for the compass and growing and fighting Tamara and Greg for the bean.

In "Tallahassee" Emma has the compass and refuses to let Hook hold it before deciding to not to risk trusting him and chaining him up. She couldn't risk trusting him because she had to get back to Henry....

"1. Launches himself on a vengeance quest - first thing to do is going to the “eternal kindergarden” where he constantly gets his 나귀, 엉덩이 kicked 의해 a little boy with the yellow bug and his gang.

2. Comes back from Neverland - only to be pushed around 의해 bitchy mother and daughter, and eventually gets 겨울왕국 for 28 years.

3. Upon coming back to life, pretends to be a simple blacksmith - gets chained to a 나무, 트리 의해 a group of girls.

4. Constantly makes innuendo jokes, hits on each and every female in sight - didn’t get one to actually fall for it.

1. Why emma the one who meet him in NY? Nael got the postcard, I honestly though after he receive that postcard, he immediately fly to storybrooke and 검색 for emma

Theory 1
nael decide to 옮기기 on. He doesn't know about henry and decided that emma is his past and need to stay as his past.

Theory 2
he feel guilty and can't face emma yet

2. Why emma in NY? why she willingly leave her family and storybrooke to meet someone who broke her heart?

Theory 1
He called and ask her...

I didn't write this...it makes sense though..

Olmpiias Wrote:

I think in the end we will find out Rumple manipulated the whole thing...Even down to Daniel's death 의해 Cora and Regina's hatred of Snow..etc. Remember without the prior events, the Dark Curse, Invented 의해 Rumple, would never have been used.

I think in the end Rumple will be the true villain, not Regina.

I agree. I think Rump knew Cora before Regina was even born. Since the show likes to remind us (read: drill it into our heads) that "evil isn't born, it's made" I think we will eventually see how Rumpel "made" Regina evil, possibly orchestrating...
