Does It Bother Anyone Else That We Know NOTHING Abput Negi's Mother?

Ok my friend has read translated versions online, but I'm only up to volume 21. He says that Negi only mentions his mother once to Jacobus Racan, when he asks if somebody is his mother. How come this hasn't come up before? Why is Negi only interested in his father if he doesn't know his mother either?

It said that that happened because she was known as the 퀸 of Clamity and her son aka Negi was alive and lived there.
