The Little Mermaid isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as great as Stand By Me.

I can't stand The Little Mermaid, and I only liked SBM for Kiefer. Still more tolerable than TLM.

Love both, they work each on different levels. The great puking scene from Stand By Me was classic and the ending always made me sad. The Little Mermaid is one of my favorites of Disney's second golden streak of classics. I love the music and the over all theme of following your dreams.

It's kind of weird. TLM is like the only film that everytime I watch it I like it less and less, rather than more and more. Stand By Me is probably my favourite film of the 80s decade.
