This is just something I have noticed over my years of watching cinema. I started watching 영화 when I was two years old. I am now 21. I grew up watching the old 디즈니 animated Classics long before Pixars domination. I am the only grand-daughter on my mothers side with a younger brother and four boy cousins so it wasnt long before I watched 별, 스타 Wars- the Original Trilogy. I enjoyed them very much. Your always intimidated 의해 the bad guys when 당신 are little but then when 당신 get older, 당신 feel for them 또는 wonder " what would the dark side be like, anyone can be good?" Same with the 디즈니 classics, of course 당신 always like the antagonists, but when I watch it now, I wonder things like " Hmm... what if Gaston got his wish and Belle became his wife, 또는 what if Ariel never got her voice back and Ursula ruled the Seas?" Things like that. But Im getting off track. When I say " old things have to be replaced," Im talking about a trend I have noticed in the media. When they say Things like " 아바타 is the 다음 별, 스타 Wars" 또는 " Twilight is the 다음 Harry Potter" 또는 when we realize that we wont be seeing much of 2D 애니메이션 anymore and all computer. Heck even TV has been replaced with nothing but reality shows and mediocore series in some cases. Maybe Im Nostalgic, I dont know. But the world has changed so much even since I have been little. And now we have gimmicks in the cinema too. 3D 영화 everywhere, TV shows to movies- in some cases thats not bad most of the time its corny, 또는 REMAKES. Old Classic 영화 redone to the point where 당신 are like,- I just want to watch the original and appreciate it for what it was back when it came out. Im not saying I havent enjoyed some remakes, but not evey classic needs to be redone. Sometimes the Past is better left alone. One of my 가장 좋아하는 horror 영화 was remade and I hoped it would never be touched. Im not going to say what it is, some can guess if they want. Its been out for a few yrs. Anyway I wrote this to get my feelings across and to see what some of 당신 have to say. OH and Im not talking about sequels,prequels and such though I do agree if 당신 get up to 8 또는 9 sequels that series should die.

peterslover Well said. You have a way with words. And you know what...I AGREE WITH YOU ON THIS! Commercials 'drop names' to say they are better. Now people are saying Avatar is the next Star Wars...dropping names. Sorry but Avatar is not replacing Star Wars. It's just one of another excellent movie to enjoy. And another thing I hate is when someone decides to add color to the great black and white films of yesteryear. Just LEAVE THEM ALONE. I'm nostalgic too.

Persephone713 Well thank you it came from my heart and love of movies. And I think they are sacrificing quality for quanity.

LisaForde Yeah everything is deja vu now. Examples; Enchanted(my fav film but it mocked Kate& Leopold),My best friend's wedding(27 dresses,made of honor,bride wars). I also agree with leaving the past the way it was(Aladdin,TLK,TLM etc).

Raspberryrae410 yes that is true. and whats up with people remaking old cartoons and such? did you know there making a movie called Smurfs? and its about the smurfs. just like spiderman, alvin and the chipmunks, alic in wonderland and such. its almost like all the creativity in the world has been sucked out. but sometimes its best in moneys interest to make the movies agian, because so many love them back then, and to appeal to a new generation.

huddysmacked I think you are right,movies in the 70's/80's/90's were awesome, they were unique but now they are all the same. I mean all the comedy films are some kind of soap opera in which you know the couple is going to fight and then make up and it's all the same in all movies. I do believe remakes are the worst thing that can happen. Imagine they wanted to remake Sophie's Choice with Megan Fox. They destroy the essence of the movie. But I do like nowadays cinema, not all but sometimes you can find good movies with good plots and stories. I wasn't born too far away from here, I mean I am 15, but I love all the story of cinemas and I enjoy watching whatever they put me in front of the TV but still I agree with what you have said. Hollywood needs some creative renovation but they don't think about that, they think about what hot star will make the public want to watch the movie and how much they'll be gaining from that.
