Background Info
(AKA Nightline), this song was written 의해 Glen Ballard, Brie Howard, David Allen Faragher (1982) for Michael's Thriller album, but failed to make the final track listing.
"When I found out it wasn't going to be on there, I just said, I'll be on the 다음 one," said Ballard in 1999. "And the truth is, I got on the 다음 two, which cumulatively sold over 50 million. It turned out to be good karma. I feel that if Nite-Line had been on Thriller, I would never have written Man In The Mirror, which is an infinitely better song, and one of the best in my catalogue."
It was recorded as Nightline 의해 the Pointer Sisters, for the original 1983 version of their album, Break Out (on the 초 pressing Nightline was replaced 의해 I'm So Excited B-side of the group's hit single, Automatic.
It was also recorde 의해 Ellen Foley for her 1983 album, Another Breath and 의해 Randy Crawford for her album of the same 제목 in 1994.

The Lyrics
Calling on the Nite Line
Waking me up
Calling on the Nite Line
(Calling on the Nite Line)
Can't get enough
Calling on the Nite Line
(Calling on the Nite Line)
Whisper in my ear
Sending through the 불, 화재 line
(Calling on the Nite Line)
What I'd like to hear
Every night about midnight
The call comes through
당신 turn it on the Nite Line
'Cause 당신 know just what to do
And I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting)
의해 the phone
(By the phone) Alone.
Calling on the Nite Line
Waking me up
(Call me, baby)
Calling on the Nite Line - Hee!
Can't get enough
(Call me, darling)
Calling on the Nite Line - Hee!
Whisper in my ear - Aow!
Sending through the 불, 화재 line
What I'd like to hear
Make it person-to-person
Make it heart-to-heart
Darling, your communication
Is sending up sparks
I'll be waiting
(I'll be waiting)
의해 the phone
(By the phone)
Why don't 당신 give me a call?
(Calling on the Nite Line
Getting me up)
I wanna call
(Calling on the Nite Line
Can't get enough)
Why don't 당신 call me, baby? Hee!
Call me on the Nite Line!
(Call me, darling!)
Whisper in my ear
(Won't 당신 call me, baby!) Hee!
Sending through the 불, 화재 line
What I'd like to hear - Oo!
(Call me on the Nite Line)
(Call me on the Nite Line)
(Call me on the Nite Line)
(Call me on the Nite Line) Oo!
Calling on the Nite Line
Waking me up - Oh!
Calling on the Nite Line - Hee!
Can't get enough
(Call me, baby!)
Calling on the Nite Line
Whisper in my ear
Sending through the 불, 화재 line

He turned his head to look over at me. " Yes I will. I'm losing hope. And even if I don't, I might as well. I'm losing my daughter to some psycho, I got stabbed 3 times, there's no use."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Mom crinkled her eyebrows. " There's no use Summer. 당신 can't convince him that he isn't going to die." She said, no hope in her voice.
Dad was still awake, but he was 겨울왕국 in one position. His messy curly hair was tossed around and flat on the pillow. When I rubbed my palm over his, they were very cold. If 당신 think about it, you're actually not sure if he'll make it.
I rested my head on his chest, tears rolling down my cheeks. I couldn't stand the fact the Dad could be leaving me too early...
When we arrived at the hospital, Dad was extremely pale. 사워, 사 우 어 tears rolled down my cheeks. I glanced over at Raymond, who was snickering.
I frowned. " Why are 당신 laughing?" Raymond rolled his eyes and gave no response.
I tried to help Dad up, but his weight pulled me down too! Mom and I carried him in where they put him a stretcher.
A nurse came up to us. " I feel so sorry for you.I hope Mr. Jackson will make it through. The world would be messed up." She said, smacking her red lips together. She made a nasty look at Raymond.
" It's him!!! Security!!!!" She yelled, pointing at Raymond. His eyes were the size of bowling balls. " Uh-oh!" He grabbed his 재킷, 자 켓 ad ran for the exit.
Meanwhile, Mom and I were sitting there, staring at Dad. He slowly opened his eyes and mumbled something I couldn't catch. " What?" I said, putting my ear closer to his mouth.
" Don't leave me to die." He whispered ever so faintly.
