Where did the “self-proclaimed king of pop” come from in your “Fans Overlook Michael Jackson’s dark side?? Can 당신 offer your readers evidence that Michael did proclaim himself King of Pop (and if 당신 can, why didn’t 당신 offer it?) or, as I suspect, did 당신 just repeat something you’ve heard other people say without doing your own investigation?

Jackson never once said 또는 required anyone to call him “King Of Pop”. And even though tabloids speculated that he “forced” 엠티비 to call him that back in 1991, after years passed, 엠티비 higher management denied that. When describing himself, Michael was humble — saying that he is a “singer.”

The e-mails streamed in about this one. There were reports in 1991 that the TV outlets that got the rights to premiere his “Black 또는 White” had to refer to him as “the King of Pop” as part of the deal, which appears to be where we got the “self-proclaimed” angle. I’m not aware that anybody has a clip of Jackson actually calling himself that, which means we should take care in using that description(self-proclaimed).

This is my 코멘트 to Mr. Stefan Wermuth:
If 당신 are NOT "aware"(didn't find a clip of MJ actually "proclaiming" himself the KING of Pop)then 당신 shouldn't have reported that he "self-proclaimed" himself the KING of POP. 다음 time do better facts checking 또는 better yet DON'T 신고 it if 당신 DON'T have proof. This is SALACIOUS, LAZY, and POOR reporting.
