For me, it's that they are so honest and are just themselves. Some bands can be false because they put on an act but Mcfly don't. They don't seem to care what people think and why should they?
For example Dougie recently said in an interview "I want to shoot fireworks out of my bum 또는 maybe do something with water. That could be our 다음 stage trick". Usually bands try to preserve themselves so they don't say something stupid and most bands would never ever get naked in front of the cameras but all the boys will do it, usually when they have been dared to, like for the Radio One Live Tour....
