OWUM: What do 당신 do in the band?

Lights: Well my first name is Lights, and I play keyboards, and I sing in the band.

OWUM: Where are 당신 from?

Lights : I currently live in Toronto Canada but I consider myself Canadian but I have been moving a lot

OWUM: Growing up, who did 당신 listen to? And who are 당신 musical influences?

Lights: Growing up I listened to a lot of what my dad listened to like Phil Collins and The Beatles and I still do listen to those bands now

OWUM: 당신 Just released your new album The Listening, how are people reacting?

Lights: It seems to be pretty good! I didn’t know what to expect. I created this album that I am so proud of, and I had no expectations of how it would be. I come here and people are showing up at the shows so I must be making some kind of impact and it is really cool to see people 노래 back

OWUM: So far what has been the most memorable tour experience?

Lights: There has definitely been a few! I remember this one time we had to 취소하기 a show in Denver Colorado for a snowstorm that was very untimely in the middle of October and all the highways were closed and everything. We went on this long detour that was SO dangerous and scary and we were all stressed out. We got to this small town called Fort Collins, kind of in the middle of nowhere, so I thought I needed a reminder of the 일 so I went in and got a tattoo and it was just a really cool experience.

OWUM: Where is the best place to perform other than your hometown?

Lights: I enjoy playing in a lot of different places. I really like Texas, anywhere in Texas is usually really fun! I 사랑 Seattle , Portland, all up the west coast, and L.A is really fun. I 사랑 Chicago, Chicago is so fun to play in, and I am excited to play here tonight. It seems like a really cool vibe and I have never played here before

OWUM: Who do 당신 think is the most underrated band out there?

Lights: Underrated band, that’s a good question. For some reason I feel like M83 because in my opinion they have some really good pop songs. There is a lot of talent out there that does go relatively under-looked 또는 in this case over-looked. I think for the most part if 당신 are something that is meant to be out there, 당신 will be out there and something that is meant to be a little 더 많이 secret, then 당신 are just meant to be secretive. At this point I think that Phoenix, they have a lot of exposure now but, they have some great songs! They should be big as Kings of Leon.

OWUM: What is one thing 당신 can not live without tour and one thing 당신 miss the most when 당신 are away?

Lights: On tour, I can’t do much without my laptop. It keeps me in communication with the world, it keeps me entertained, and I can write 음악 and record 음악 on it. I am pretty much useless without it! But I do miss sleeping in my own 침대 and that feeling of not having to be somewhere, 당신 know? That is not the feeling 당신 have when being on the road.

OWUM: If 당신 could have a super power, what would it be and why?

Lights: I would 사랑 to have, what I call, Hypersonic-Manipulation powers! So 당신 can use audio to control people’s minds

OWUM: Subliminal messaging? Haha

Lights: Sorta 당신 know? Because Wonder Women one of her foes was the Silver 백조 and she emitted this really high power screech that could control people a little bit, but I would use them for good!

OWUM: That is the most original answer we have ever got. Everyone is always like “Oh 당신 know Invisibility..”

Lights: AND FLYING!

OWUM: CLICHÉ!

OWUM: If 당신 were to have theme song play every time 당신 entered a room, what would it be and why?

Lights: Haha! I would pick the Spongebob theme song because it would just really fit

OWUM: What is your guilty pleasure song?

Lights: All the things she said – T.A.T.U

OWUM: Who would be on your dream tour?

Lights: My dream tour at this point would be MuteMath. I think idealistically that would be a fun tour. But if 당신 know, I were to dream big I would say lets go out with Abba, Phil Collins, and call it a tour!

OWUM: Every guy wants know, what do 당신 look for in a boyfriend?

Lights: Hahaha! Definitely sharing the same interests as me! A guy that doesn’t think it’s stupid that I waste all my time on World of Warcraft, 당신 know? Someone who can come over and hangout while I play it haha. Hmm…someone who does not take themselves seriously. And preferably someone who doesn’t write songs and sing because then we would be clashing of minds!
