the 7 1/2 deaths of evelyn hardcastle
Tonight, Evelyn Hardcastle will be killed... again.
It is meant to be a celebration but it ends in tragedy. As fireworks explode overhead, Evelyn Hardcastle, the young and beautiful daughter of the house, is killed. But Evelyn will not die just once. Until Aiden – one of the guests summoned to Blackheath for the party – can solve her murder, the day will repeat itself, over and over again. Every time ending with the fateful pistol shot. The only way to break this cycle is to identify the killer. But each time the day begins again, Aiden wakes in the body of a different guest. And someone is determined to prevent him ever escaping Blackheath...

and then there were none
First, there were ten—a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a little private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal—and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. A famous nursery rhyme is framed and hung in every room of the mansion. When they realize that murders are occurring as described in the rhyme, terror mounts. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. Who has choreographed this dastardly scheme? And who will be left to tell the tale? Only the dead are above suspicion.

caroline: little house revisited
The pioneer life is a hard one, especially for a pregnant woman with no friends or kin to turn to for comfort or help. The burden of work must be shouldered alone, sickness tended without the aid of doctors, and babies birthed without the accustomed hands of mothers or sisters. But Caroline’s new world is also full of tender joys. In adapting to this strange new place and transforming a rough log house built by Charles’ hands into a home, Caroline must draw on untapped wells of strength she does not know she possesses. (little house on the prairie from caroline pov)

the night circus
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands. True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

persuasion
Twenty-seven-year old Anne Elliot is Austen's most adult heroine. Eight years before the story proper begins, she is happily betrothed to a naval officer, Frederick Wentworth, but she precipitously breaks off the engagement when persuaded by her friend Lady Russell that such a match is unworthy. The breakup produces in Anne a deep and long-lasting regret. When later Wentworth returns from sea a rich and successful captain, he finds Anne's family on the brink of financial ruin and his own sister a tenant in Kellynch Hall, the Elliot estate. All the tension of the novel revolves around one question: Will Anne and Wentworth be reunited in their love?

One of my resolutions for last year (and this year!) was to read more, and although I didn't read as much as I wanted last year, I really enjoyed these books! I'm hoping to read more this year (my goal is 20 books!) so if you have any suggestions let me know :)

As I said, I really enjoyed all of these books but I just have to pick The Night Circus! The book is just so vivid and captivating and magical and just....a hundred other adjectives :P I first read it in 2018 but I reread it in 2019 so I had to include it lol. I also really enjoyed 7 1/2 deaths, such a good mystery and I read it in like 2 days because I just had to know who killed her and all the answers! Caroline was ok...I'm a life long LHOTP/Laura Ingalls Wilder fan so I enjoyed that part of it, but it will probably be a few years before I reread it. And Agatha Christie and Jane Austen are always gold <333

Giving love to this underrated gem. I LOVE all Austen's novels but this one is always overlooked and it's so good!!!!

I read And Then They Were None as a kid and the whole book had me at the edge of my seat and it's the queen of crime at her best. It was the beginning of my love for crime stories <33333

I never got into Little House on the Prairie's books growing up though I saw the show as a kid. And I might try out Deaths of Evelyn because I love a good loop story :)
I don't read much YA but I heard the Night Circus is pretty good, I might give it a try.
