Piu95 picked Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse:
I know that some of these movies came out in 2018 in the US, but in France they usually come out later.

Spider-Verse is HANDS DOWN my fave Spider-Man movie so far. It's just amazing, the visuals, the animation, the colors, wow it's so damn pretty. If you can, watch it at the theater, the experience is mind-blowing. It's a multi-verse story which I am a sucker for, and like I love Peter Parker but we've had THREE trilogies (well almost) about him, so I was glad to see Miles Morales taking center stage. Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen finally gets the love and story she deserves on the big screen. Deffo recommend.

Lady Winsley is a cool Turkish movie that if you have the chance to see, you deffo should. It's a murder mystery and it's actually really funny. I went to see it without knowing much about the story and had zero expectations and I loved it

On the Basis of Sex is about RBG's early life and we see how she became the icon she is today. Felicity Jones is AMAZING in this and I was pleasantly surprised about Hammer's acting chops in this.

Wildlife is a cool movie, that really wouldn't be half as good without Carey Mulligan and Jake Gyllenhaal. They are both terrific in this and the cinematography is great, especially the scenery that is breathtaking

Sorry to bother you was good for the most part, but half-way through the movie it gets peculiar and deffo more fantasy than I expected. Lakeith Stanfield is so good in this though.

The Favourite was great, though I prefer the director's previous film. As a fan of period drama though, this movie has a different feel to it, but it works. Stone, Weitz and Coleman are amazing in this but special mention to Coleman though, she shines in this role.

Vice was so good and frightening. It's based on Cheney's life, especially when he is Bush's VP. Bale is amazing in this, even with the physical transformation alone and Rockwell is uncanny as Bush.

Green Book was very good. Though I hear the critics too, but I do believe that if anyone is depicted unfavorably, is the Italian community and Mortensen's character. The movie is unexpectedly funny and Ali shines in this.

Mary Queen of Scots, was good but I don't think I'd see it again. Robbie is deffo the best part of it and depicts a different Elizabeth I that we are used to see and the physical transformation that they did on her is impressive. Again I love a period drama but the modernization of a few things fell flat imo.

Captain Marval was cool, I don't follow the MCU that much (saw a few movies here and there) but I thought that the story was strong and the characters were cool.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan is not that great. Dolan is usually an amazing director but this movie fell flat. It feels like he focused too much on the cast and kinda failed at it. Harington is not that great of an actor and in this you can tell, the supporting cast was kinda good but doesn't have enough material to actually be good. The story isn't that much interesting and tbh you don't really understand where's the link between the Donovan character and the kid. And then there's wayyyy too much close-up shots, I seriously came out of the theater having an awful headache.

Shazam! was cool but something felt a bit off, could be the main villain who was too two-dimensional. Hopefully the sequel gets better

My faves are probably Into the Spider-Verse & On the Basis of Sex
