Most likely not...I mean their school Sakuragaoka actually exists (in the name of Toyosato Elem.),however since it's a "Slice of Life" 아니메 then they may 또는 may not be some kind of coincidence where it's similar to real life,particularly with the Light 음악 Club group. Although like I said,it's most likely fiction but due to one of it's genre, it also shows some stuff in real life,like say...highschool kids hanging out, going in clubs together,going in fieldtrips...etc. just your typical highschool life.
Well base on the 기사 I saw months ago. It is based on a true story about a 5 girl band who died on a plane crush but Kyoto Studios did not show the plane crush instead they continue the story of the 5 girls. Still hoping for a season 3 T-T

They talk about a flight but never show it, so if the flight DID happen irl, then there wont be a season 3, plus they graduated!!!
In my opinion, im not very sure if it is true 또는 not because in the movie they did have flight but it never had any crashes, but in the show they didn't show a flight. So I don't have a for sure answer, it may even be an au 또는 a theory
