How the couple came to be? Aside from the fact Melody is Ariel's daughter and it's a x-over couple is what given...

This may get long so sorry in advance lol. Probably the main reason why some people DON’T like this couple is because of the “age difference”. In Melody’s movie she is 12 and Jim is 15 in his movie (not 17 as some would like to believe). Let’s face it though as they get older those 3 years won’t matter. Also Melody’s movie came out in 2000 while Jim’s came out in 2002. Technically Melody would have been 14 during Jim’s movie. If 당신 look at it that way then the age thing shouldn’t be a problem.

My personal reasons for liking JiMel is because Jim is my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 human hero (Simba is my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 animal hero, but that’s another topic for another 일 lol) and Melody is my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 heroine/princess. I put the 슬래쉬 there because she is the heroine of her own movie/story and she is technically a princess even though she isn’t a part of the 디즈니 Princess franchise. I’m not gonna lie, but I had/have a crush on Jim since I first saw Treasure Planet in 2002. I was twelve years old and I was instantly smitten with his bad boyish attitude and the angst he was putting off. Honestly I think that’s why people (mainly girls) ship him with a lot of characters. He’s a bad boy with a good 심장 and it doesn’t help that “I’m Still Here” the song for the movie was PERFECT for him and probably a lot of other teens at that time. We felt for Jim. In the short time that the movie took place, he found himself and we connected with him. When it comes to Melody I saw a lot of myself in her. Before I ever even heard of her and her movie, Ariel was one of my 가장 좋아하는 디즈니 princesses because I ALWAYS wanted to be a mermaid. Only thing was I felt Ariel had it backwards. I’d prefer to be in the sea than to being on land. So when Melody was introduced as basically having the opposite dream of Ariel, I felt an instant connection with her. Besides my biased reasons for this ship, I also think people like them together because they are similar in a lot of ways. They like adventure and want to see and explore places that are far from their grasp at the beginning of the movie, and for the most part are in their element when they do go to those places. Therefore, that’s why most people think they would get along so well as a couple 또는 at least best 프렌즈 (which would probably turn romantic anyway).

I don’t like Jim/Ariel either mainly because it’s overused. Also if 당신 wanna talk age then Ariel is older than Jim 의해 one year. Ariel looks mature in body, but she doesn’t really act it. Besides I think she would be 더 많이 interested in Jim’s world than Jim himself if they were to meet. But that’s just my opinion. :)
