interviewer: it’s a pleasure meeting you. You’re one of our 가장 좋아하는 actors in the world.
jake gyllenhaal: That’s very nice of you!
interviewer: Tell us about your involvement with the Edible Schoolyard.
jake gyllenhaal: I’ve been involved with them for a couple of years. I’m titled 의해 Alice Waters, the ambassador of the school yard. I got involved because the 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 표, 테이블 was always a place, since I was a young child, where we got to get together, and I actually got to know my family there 더 많이 than any other place in the world. I grew up growing my own 음식 in our family garden. One of my best 프렌즈 is a farmer. It’s been a primary focus of my life.
interviewer: We 사랑 food!
jake gyllenhaal: I didn’t realize that I grew up in the slow 음식 movement. I see children who didn’t know any of these things—that they can grow their own 음식 and learn about vegetables when they are at a primary level. It was everything to me, so I wanted to be involved. Since knowing about this organization, I’ve done everything I can.
interviewer: What’s your 가장 좋아하는 vegetable?
Jake Gyllenhaal:I’d say right now, after an extensive 검색 over the years and living the wonderful life that I’ve had so far, and after tasting many, many vegetables…cavolo nero. It’s like a really soft kale. 당신 can eat it any form: cooked, raw…
interviewer: We trust anything 당신 say. Let’s backtrack…How do 당신 know a farmer?
Jake Gyllenhaal: I was raised in Los Angeles, but I spent my summers, since I was born, in Martha’s Vineyard. My best friend, since we were little kids, lives there, and he’s a farmer. His whole family farms. I know it might seem odd, but it’s what I 사랑 더 많이 than anything. Being in gardens have been some of the most wonderful times of my life. Washing 상추, 상 추 and watching things grow…you feel connected to the world. You’d be hard-pressed to find anything that connects 당신 to the universe in the same way that planting a seed does.
interviewer: That’s so sweet! And now you’ve got a beard like a real farmer.
jake gyllenhaal: Seeds of growth!

Playing the wrapped-in-plastic 제목 role 10 years ago, Gyllenhaal took a neon-nights cruise down the Strip on the back of Danny Trejo’s motorcycle.
This week, the all-grown-up Gyllenhaal returns to the Strip for the gritty cop drama “End of Watch,” from writer-director David Ayer (whose credits range from “Training Day” screenwriter to “Street Kings” director).
“End of Watch” is expected to end principal production Tuesday in L.A. — which makes sense, considering the movie focuses on the partnership, and friendship, between two L.A. police officers. They’re played 의해 Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, who’s reportedly not making the trek to Caesars Palace later this week. Watch for “End of Watch” in theaters 다음 year.
