I think she was good enough.

She is great portraying Cissy's character!!!At first i did had a problem with her looks and hair in HBP,she looked old but it wasn't her fault really,wrong make up i guess XD!!!She looked so much better in DH!!!Her hair looked awesome and she was very pretty!!!

I'm not sure, I knew a few people who don't like her in the movies (mostly looks, I've heard).
But I think she was fine.

I love how she has an expression on her face that shows so many emotions, but hardly any emotion at all at the same time. But Alan is definitely better with that skill ;)

She's a good actress, but I hated the look for Narcissa, I mean, she was supposed to be pretty and young looking, but she was old and had skunk hair, I mean, WTF?

Yes...She looks better in DH, since everyone is so obsessed with her looks. But I think she was great and icy as Narcissa in both HBP and DH.

My BFF and I are going to the Midnight showing of Part 2 for my birthday and I am being Narcissa and she is being Bellatrix.

Plus, why condemn her for the makeup department?

This has become and unhealthy bashing/dwelling/obsession type thing. She played the part well, and she looked way better in Deathly Hallows...time to move on. ( I dont say that often believe me- I dwell myself, it drives my mother nuts)

^^^ Um no offence, but there's no use in saying "When will people be over it?" because if there's alot of people who don't like her as Narcissa, then people (can't speak for all) will most likely NEVER be over it.

I hated Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore in the 4th movie and I STILL do, yet that was over 5 years ago. People still often (from what I've seen) bring it up now.

Does it really matter if people are negative about her, seriously? I bet if it was someone you hated, you wouldn't be saying this.

I love her as Narcissa. I'll never get tired of defending her! She looks wonderful. I think a lot of people forget Narcissa (character) is in her early forties and a mother of a 17-year-old. She can't look 30. It would be awkward. She looks classy, elegant and appropriate. I'm satisfied. I think they made a mistake with Bella (I love Helena's work though). It's Bella who doesn't look like she's been in a terrible place like Azakaban for 15 years. Compare her to Gary Oldman's Sirius who did look like her just got out of jail.

Actually I think everyone in Harry Potter is casted Spot on. I didn't have a person in mind when reading. Because I have been with the books since 98 and when I heard that they were going to be movies, well...I would just wait and see who they casted.

Plus I believe in 2nd chances and she had to step aside, so whats wrong with allowing her to Play Bellatrix's sister?

@Darkshine yeah, that's pretty much how I feel. I mean, she was okay as Narcissa, but I think she should have been younger, with blonde hair instead of the blackish hairdo she had. I think they should have picked someone younger and prettier looking. Like Naomi Watts. (actually I imagine narcissa as looking more like Naomi :D)

i think she makes quite a good narcissa i am just sooo glad she didnt get the part of bellatrix cos that would have been a fail. helena bonham carter rocks as bellatrix< love her xx

well I think she was ok as Narcissa but maybe thats just because I never really liked the charakter of Narcissa that much in the books so I didn't care that much....

But I really DO think its a blessing she got pregnant so HBC got to play Bellatrix!!

You know who also would have made a good Narcissa(in my opinion)? Miranda Richardson!
