shieldmaiden actually, it's more in Meredith and Cristina's characters to distance themselves from emotion. Meredith already had her major freak out moment when she realized that it was George who was the John Doe. Either they will hide their grief, Cristina especially, or break down later on. Remember when Cristina had the ectopic pregnancy in Season 2 and she lost the baby? She didn't break down about it until days later. It's just their character. If they were to show their grief immediately, it would be outside of their personality and be inconsistent. Thus, their reactions are correct. Looks like the episode will be good though and another tear jerker.

hayley_pace OMG so I have the theory of all theories! It's george's brother! when he wrote 007 on mer's hand, he was asking for george not saying he was george. TR Knight is not on the show anymore, but george is alive, he's just in the army as we suspected before we thought we found out who john doe was. I'll miss him, but I feel happy knowing he's alive!
