Because she tends to have fake smiles and sometimes her laughter can be 더 많이 for show than pure amusement. I don't think she is ugly, but people do think she looks boyish sometimes and she tends to be on the heavy.

Taeyeon and Sooyoung also look boyish too but why didn't tell that taeyeon is ugly .
