Helllll noo. In fact, the writers had originally put the main storyline as Ross and Rachel. So in the beginning, she was a fragile 또는 vital character. (But as the show went on, the other characters grew in, and the main storyline was with everyone.) And without Rachel being there, the cast wouldn't be complete. Because in this kind of group, 당신 need particular stereotypes. 당신 need a Ross, playing out as a geek, 당신 need a Monica, playing out as a controlling leader (seeing as they would always be in HER apartment), 당신 need a Chandler, the funny guy, pulling a joke every minute, 당신 need a Phoebe, the weird kind of crazy one, a Joey, the nice and stupid one, and a Rachel who's the 인기 cheerleader, ditsy one. All these stereotypes always exist somewhere, and despite her bad habits, she has good ones, and are vital to the show. Without any of them, can 당신 honestly say that the show would've been as successful? I don't think so. All the stereotypes manifesting to the show, making it highly entertaining to watch. Rachel, being the ditsy, spoiled rich girl stereotype that she is, is important, and 프렌즈 wouldn't have been better if she never came. It could still be good, because 당신 still have all the other characters, but not as good as it is now.
