If adding, it should be a character there was two different versions of, not just something like a TV character who got a movie if the character was the same in the movie and the show (so TV River Tam vs Movie River Tam wouldn't count because it's not two different versions). As far as I can remeber right now I think I've always prefered the moe popular versions. Oh and not because they were popular, just because I liked them best :)
And I'm not calling the less popular version unpopular (though in some cases they are) just that they are not the preferred version of most fans, even if fans like both.

I much prefer book Temperance. I do like the TV show bones, and her character in it, but I think book Tempe is so much better. Thing is, it's a little hard to compare them because they're so different. Unlike others on the list it's not just a different interpretation of the same character, they made the choice to make her an almost completely different character, even down to her age. I enjoy reading the books much more than the show, I find the plots a lot more interesting and engaging and the characters have more depth, also just how Brennan is as a person in the books I find much more interesting and likeable. I actually only started reading the books after seeing the show, but I ended up liking the books so much more, I haven't even read them all, I've read 4 so far, but I'm already much more invested in book Tempe than I've felt about TV Tempe. I'd say the TV show is ok, pretty good but nothing I'm too passionate about, but I'm a huge fan of the books.

I liked comic Buffy because they blended High School Buffy with Season Seven Buffy and she finally found that balance between being a twenty-something girl and being the leader of a slayer army. I very much enjoyed Buffy in season 1-4, and I liked her in season 7, but I didn't like her in between (in season 5 and 6), so comic Buffy really helped that.
