Dear fellow-fanpoppers,

Recently 팬팝 introduced a new feature to our 프로필 pages:

The Showcase!

Eventhough it’s not a very complicated feature, there seem to be quite a few 질문 surrounding the caps. This gave me the idea of 글쓰기 this article, answering the most aksed questions. Let me first say that everything I write is based on how I think this new feature works. I’m not one of the fabulous F4, so please correct me if I’m wrong about something.

1. What is the Showcase?
This 질문 was answerd 의해 F4 Dave: “The new showcase is for your 팬팝 bottlecap collection that will continue to grow with new and exciting caps based on your participation and activity across the site.” In other words, the Showcase is the place on your 프로필 page where all your caps are presented.

2. What are Caps?
Caps are rewards that can be earned in different ways (that I’ll explain later). Consider them prices for various things 당신 do on Fanpop. They have no further purpose, it’s just fun to get them.

3. How do I get Caps?
That depends on the kind of cap. The system for getting them is automated (like the medals) so whenever 당신 deserve to get one, 당신 will. Some can be earned 의해 doing specific things, others are given randomly.

4. What different kinds of Caps are there?
So far there are 5 different types of Caps. I’ll explain every type and how to get them here:

4a. 팬팝 Firsts

OK, everybody, let's all just take some deep breaths. I've been looking at 코멘트 within the last half 시간 about the new 팬팝 layout that has thrown all of us for a loop.

There was a similar outcry of disbelief over, what I am choosing to call, the link. I am here 글쓰기 this to gather everyone's collective panic and misgivings into one place, as well as to try and look at the positives of these recent changes, in an attempt to placate some of your fears.

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. AH! OMIGAWD! 팬팝 LOOKS WEIRD AND IS ALL DIFFERENT! It's like 페이스북 and YouTube...

Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has 게시됨 something good. Back in my 일 we used to give props if someone 게시됨 a good video, 또는 said something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small medals that 당신 can give to other users if 당신 see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users props 의해 going to their 프로필 and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message...

Hi everyone,

I’m 글쓰기 this 기사 because I believe the new 벽 system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on 팬팝 for quite some time now, and I’ve received and given quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the props I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: 의해 ‘real props’ I mean props received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other props were ‘thanks for being a 팬 – props’ 또는 ‘happy whatever 일 당신 came...

Reason For This Article

Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.
 My Joy was short lived
My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a 월 and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on 팬팝 i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?
 It felt like that unfortunately

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of 이미지 to, but enough have been added 의해 other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

Step 1: Maneuver over to your 가장 좋아하는 spot (or preferably, the spot you’ve contributed the most 이미지 to)

Step 2: Look at...

The Fanwhore: Have 당신 ever been added 의해 someone, and then when 당신 went to their 프로필 to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new 팬 in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

How long have 당신 been on Fanpop?
I've been on here since 2011, on a different account of course. I left because there was way to much going on with that one. I re visit sometimes.
I'm thinking about leaving tho.

Which club are 당신 most active on?
Anime, there would be 더 많이 but they're dead. I really wish most of the clubs will get back active again. One 일 huh?

Which Club is your favorite?
Anime, because I really 사랑 anime.

Which section is your favorite?
The 포럼 section, that's usually where I am.

Are 당신 "known" for anything on Fanpop?
Mhm well, I use...

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun 의해 telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy 또는 haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your 가장 좋아하는 TV show and you're a few episodes behind 또는 a book that 당신 haven't read yet, the last thing 당신 want is for someone to tell 당신 what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your 가장 좋아하는 stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when 팬 were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Alright, so this is sort of in conjunction with a lot of other soapbox articles, namely Temptasia's two 기사 on link and link. It is also a sister 기사 to thecon's link. Additionally, it's minutely related (like a very distant cousin) to megloveskyle's 기사 on link. But I really wanted to stress the importance of constructive criticism here. So at the risk of sounding (exceptionally) redundant, I wish to discuss the importance of expressing yourself, taking responsibility for your actions, and not rating and running. Forgive me if this is all too familiar (thecon's 기사 summed...

Part one can he found link
Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. 코멘트 that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, 또는 are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate 또는 nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a 코멘트 like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? 또는 do they not...
