Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has 게시됨 something good. Back in my 일 we used to give props if someone 게시됨 a good video, 또는 said something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small medals that 당신 can give to other users if 당신 see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
당신 can give users props 의해 going to their 프로필 and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message of what 당신 appreciated and choose the correct prop type.

I see other users throwing props around, so it should be ok?
If 당신 saw those other users jump off a cliff would 당신 also do it...if 당신 answer yes then the internet may not be a good place for you.

What are some bad examples of prop giving?
- User_X offers props to people that will 가입하기 a club they created
- User_X offers props in a "competition"
- User_X gives props in chain letters
- User_X gives props because you're their bff

I personally think it would be great if we could get at least 30% (yes, the percentage is shockingly low of how I see props being used) of users using props correctly. If we got 50% it would be amazing and if we got 100% I think it would be a miracle. So lets just do the best we can in understanding what props are for and use them correctly.

Note: There is no "User_X" if one is ever created I appologise for tarnashing their name before it ever existed. Sorry!

A feeling of achievement, no matter how small, is still great.

Wow! About one 일 ago, I got my first props! I was ecstatic! Temptasia gave me props for the Office 비디오 I was contributing. And, then I realized something: recognition is what we really base our actions off of.

I first joined 팬팝 because I wanted to watch some cool videos, and because I was bored. I didn't really plan on doing much on it, just 가입하기 a few key spots (my 가장 좋아하는 TV shows). As I delved further and further into what this website had to offer, I began wanting to be a part of it. I began seeing names everywhere (Chel, Temptasia, Benji) and I realized I wanted to be recognized....

One year down (and then some) and getting better all the time...
OK, OK, so I realize I'm a couple months late for the actual one 년 anniversary of the site launch (to anyone outside of the staff), but I still can't let it pass without notice. So I challenge you, the 팬팝 fan, to write a little something about fanpop, to show your appreciation for this site that we've come to know and love.

Since this is the first time we've done one of these things, I'm suggesting haiku to start, because it's short, easy, and most everyone knows how to do it.

However, in case anyone does not remember how haiku works, here's a quick primer. In English, it's simple: a line with five syllables, then a line of seven syllables, then a last line of five syllables. No other structure is necessary.

Here's an illustrative example of the form:

One two three four five
Two three four five through seven
Seven eight nine ten

...which has nothing to do with fanpop. 당신 can do better, can't you?
