Okay, this has been brewing in me for a while and I think that now is the time to bring it all out into the open.... I speak of the burgeoning conflict that is the rating-to-comment ratio.

Lets break this down; On numerous occasions, I have added various 링그 to many different sites, and always venture back to see what people think of the link, 또는 their reaction to it (be that positive, negative, 또는 even criticism towards me). But over the last few months it has become increasingly obvious that people are rating the link, but leaving no comment!

The way I see it, its like breaking into your neighbours house when they're out, having a look around and using their toilet (without flushing), and then not telling them when they get home.

I don't think I am being unreasonable in the suggestion that if 당신 read a link, pick, soapbox, watch a video 또는 whatever, that 당신 also leave a 코멘트 afterwards. I'm not asking for 당신 to write a new bible chapter in a comment, but just show a little appreciation, 또는 say what 당신 thought... because 당신 DID have a reaction to it... you're not some kind of Borg-like creature with no emotions! If you've given it 5 stars, then say it was good... if you've given it 1, then say why!

I like going back to something I 게시됨 and seeing the response of the fanpoppers.... it's like publishing a book and 읽기 the reviews afterwards... 당신 find out what the 팬 did/didn't like and can either feel pleased with yourself, 또는 react accordingly.

In some cases (mostly with Picks) there is a 질문 that could really 스플릿, 분할 the field and prove to be debate-tastic... yet people seemingly vote for controversial choices, and then don't explain themselves! Its like an Army Chief announcing that the only way to achieve world peace is to kill all Gay people... then running away to do it! 당신 can't say, 또는 agree to, something like that and then not explain yourself!

But mostly I think the issue lies within the '5 별, 스타 Ratings'... whenever something is rated '5 Stars' it seems to be then that people don't respond, as if they feel they don't have to 코멘트 after giving it a 상단, 맨 위로 rating. Whenever I see such a link with NO comments... its like when 당신 saw the cloned Ripley's in Alien Resurrection.... there is just no soul (and they might as well be deformed).

As for the 링그 with 더 많이 ratings than comments, it's like something is missing... like someone has stolen from the link, but not given back. So (at risk of sounding like a Telethon) lets do it, lets give back...

Hi everyone,

I’m 글쓰기 this 기사 because I believe the new 벽 system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on 팬팝 for quite some time now, and I’ve received and given quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the props I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: 의해 ‘real props’ I mean props received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other props were ‘thanks for being a 팬 – props’ 또는 ‘happy whatever 일 당신 came...

Reason For This Article

Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.
 My Joy was short lived
My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a 월 and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on 팬팝 i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?
 It felt like that unfortunately

After my long wait i got a message, but it wasn't what i was hoping for. I was expecting...

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of 이미지 to, but enough have been added 의해 other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

Step 1: Maneuver over to your 가장 좋아하는 spot (or preferably, the spot you’ve contributed the most 이미지 to)

Step 2: Look at...

The Fanwhore: Have 당신 ever been added 의해 someone, and then when 당신 went to their 프로필 to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new 팬 in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun 의해 telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy 또는 haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your 가장 좋아하는 TV show and you're a few episodes behind 또는 a book that 당신 haven't read yet, the last thing 당신 want is for someone to tell 당신 what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your 가장 좋아하는 stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when 팬 were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Alright, so this is sort of in conjunction with a lot of other soapbox articles, namely Temptasia's two 기사 on link and link. It is also a sister 기사 to thecon's link. Additionally, it's minutely related (like a very distant cousin) to megloveskyle's 기사 on link. But I really wanted to stress the importance of constructive criticism here. So at the risk of sounding (exceptionally) redundant, I wish to discuss the importance of expressing yourself, taking responsibility for your actions, and not rating and running. Forgive me if this is all too familiar (thecon's 기사 summed...

Part one can he found link
Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. 코멘트 that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, 또는 are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate 또는 nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a 코멘트 like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? 또는 do they not...

I have had technology since I was three. Playing link and link on my SNES against/with my family (parents included!) were part of my childhood. I came onto the internet when I was around eleven, still fueled 의해 a need for technology, rarely seen without my Gameboy and link in it. I had to, as most people, find a place on the internet to settle into. I tried many places, first setting myself up a site at link, probably back when Dave and papa were still there and hadn't even started to think of 팬팝 yet.

As I grew older and 더 많이 knowledgable about the internet and life in general, I went searching...
