okay straight down to buisness, frankly I dislike picks saying "will 당신 가입하기 this spot" 또는 messages from people advertising sites and spots. If people have a real interest in the spot they will find it themselves, same goes for websites but i understand that there's no point to a spot if your the only member and 당신 have no one to talk about your passion with and since we're all one big 팬팝 family the 더 많이 of us the merrier a spot generally is, so rather than whining about it i have decided to offer up some solutions. Although the annoying person with in me still feels the need to put in some 'don't' but i promise not to go on too long :D I will try and say what i do want to see and will give props if i see people actually taking this 조언 on board

firstly before i start, the big no, no, please don't send people messages advertising spots and sites, it’s annoying and I’m sure everyone wants a spam free 팬팝

links

The most obvious way to 광고 a spot 또는 website is to put some 링그 up, i think three is the most can 당신 can put up of the same link (rightly so) so use them wisely, the best way to do this is not to put them in unrelated, 인기 spots like 팬팝 but to put them in different related spots,
e.g. if 당신 had made a spot for a tv character, it has no relation to 팬팝 so don't link it to 팬팝 (this is technically miscategorized) instead why not put a link to the show iself, a link to the spot of the actor/actress who plays that character, 당신 don't necessarily have to put as many as 당신 can but I guess if 당신 really wanted to 당신 could then put a link to a 인기 couple they are involved in

picks

another big no, no for me is the "will 당신 가입하기 the so and so spot" pick, there really is no point to these picks, they are not opinionated and won't get anymore advertising than links, just 더 많이 comments, again they're annoying and spammy

the reason why people like picks so much is to state their opinion and so creating a none opinion pick will not draw in the interest, interesting picks will draw in interest

e.g. if i were to create a spot for the brilliant dave lui i could ask in the 팬팝 users spot

"what's your 가장 좋아하는 thing about dave"

and then put a link in the 코멘트

또는 again in the 팬팝 users spot

link

and then pick dave and say something like "that's why i created the dave spot" and then link,

it's easy standard pick stuff 또는 if 당신 want 당신 can get really creative and slip it in anywhere e.g. 당신 could ask in the picks spot

link

then pick dave and link

the same aspect can be applied to tv characters 또는 anything e.g.

i created the spot for the show link (oh yes i'm even advertising right now, i'm that good ;p) and even though it has not come out yet i could ask in the 텔레비전 spot

"which new show are 당신 most looking 앞으로 to coming out?" and then link

또는 in the amy acker spot

"which amy acker co 별, 스타 did 당신 like best" then pick eliza dushku and say "i'm looking 앞으로 to seeing them together again in the new show dollhouse" and then link

articles

okay now i really don't want to see 기사 and 포럼 saying

"you should 가입하기 the dave lu spot because it's awesome"

that's not a article! and not really a 포럼

what 당신 could do is write a 기사 about your passion e.g. if 당신 created a spot for pigeon racing 당신 could write a 기사 about your own achievements in the sport and put in some 이미지 with 당신 and the pigeons in the 팬팝 users spot and then as always put a link below

Of for a show if created a spot of one couple vs. another couple, 당신 could write a 기사 comparing the couples and then link

other little tips and bits

If your really struggling for 팬 here’s a few other tips

-you could put a link to the spot under ‘websites’ on your 프로필 page

-you could say something about your passion in your 모토 on your 프로필 page

-you could use a avatar/icon of your passion

-there are loads of 포럼 about advertising including link 또는 one to link

-you could ever try bribing us 의해 saying it contains picture of john in his chaps

-the 더 많이 pop 퀴즈 질문 당신 ask the better chance 당신 have of people coming across them in the 'super quiz'

Finally THE NUMBER ONE way to get 더 많이 팬 on to a spot is to add loads of brilliant, amazing content

이미지 on the front page, 포럼 on the front page, picks on the front page, pop 퀴즈 on the front page will all be noticed, even better if 당신 add some brilliant 비디오 또는 기사 and have them featured

okay that's my say and some ideas, don't use all of these that would be a bit excessive just pick a couple that 당신 could do best :D

EDIT:when i wrote this 기사 there wasn't a dave spot but there now is so i guess this was a bit of advertisement for that too

I'm human, and it's part of the human condition to avoid change. So I admit I get a little irritated when stuff on 팬팝 changes. I still haven't got used to the differences between the 검색 bars on the site, for instance - every 일 I scratch my head, wondering why I get no results when I look for "Fanpop Users", until I realize that I was looking within the link instead of through the whole site (someday I'll get used to this.
I hate it when this crap happens

I've spent the last fortnight 또는 so getting a little peeved with certain things on Fanpop, they're mostly the tiny things, but if I don't mentioned them, I'm going to outburst on some poor person who doesn't deserve it, so instead, I'm giving a bit of global 팬팝 advice, 당신 ready? Here we go...

Get off your soapbox!
Lately I’ve been noticing the most frustrating thing from a lot of rather 인기 and regular Fanpoppers. 글쓰기 기사 that don’t have any heart, they barely have content and they’ve clearly just been added to voice a passing opinion that could have been done in pick...

Everyone has been thinking about the secret of the glitch. Yes. It's the great-o-legendary glitch of multiple answers. A lot of fanpoppers have even earned a lot of medals 의해 posting the 이미지 of this glitch. Okay, I hate to bring this to 당신 that 당신 are also responsible for posting double 또는 multiple answers. It's actually not a glitch at all. So, what is it? What's the secret? Now, I'm going to reveal the secret. So, don't get your 속옷, 속박 in a bunch. This is the magic formula of multiple answering: 1)First, click the "answer this question" button 2)Now, 당신 have entered the fresh page...

Amazondebs had the marvelous idea of making 팬팝 mad-libs...see the link. This 기사 was last edited on 21 October 2008 to try to explain how the game works a little better...

What is a Mad-lib?
Specifically, Mad Libs is a registered trademark of the 펭귄 Group (USA). Generally, a mad lib is a kind of word game where the player is presented with a questionnaire, prompting for several seemingly 랜덤 types of words. The player fills in the words, then goes to another location to plug the words into the corresponding places in a block of text, which results in a silly, funny, naughty or...
