Will Emma Watson be coming to Pittsburgh to film her first post-"Harry Potter" role?

Ms. Watson, known to moviegoers worldwide as Hermione in the "Potter" movies, is said to have been cast in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," along with Logan Lerman.

Upper St. Clair native Stephen Chbosky, who wrote the best-selling book upon which the movie is based, will direct the film. Ava Dellaira, his assistant, confirmed Monday that he plans to film here. "He says he wouldn't consider any other location," she said. No 날짜 for filming has been set, she added.

Mr. Chbosky, creator and executive producer of the TV series "Jericho," also wrote the screenplay for the film version of "Rent."

"The Perks of Being a Wallflower" was published in 1999 and is set in a Pittsburgh suburb. The book is written from the point of view of an introspective high school freshman and takes the form of a series of letters.

"The Pittsburgh Film Office has not had a conversation with anybody" connected with the project, said Pittsburgh Film Office director Dawn Keezer. "We would 사랑 for them to come. But at this point, we've spoken to no one." The Film Office has been getting "a ton of e-mails and calls" about the project, Ms. Keezer added.

The film is listed on the Internet Movie Database as being in pre-production for 2011, with Pittsburgh as a location.
