He is a man of his word.When Alaric staked him with the dagger but he didn't die, he didn't kill anybody as he had promised to Elena, but went straight to her, even though he could have killed everybody she loves.

He did always keep his word, but I guess he's like Elena. When family is involved all rational sense disapears.

I agree he does keep his word but when family is involved it all just goes down hill and its totally not fair but Elijah is soo amazing and seriously I know he keeps his word but he was gonna hurt his brother for Elena

I don't really know. If he was a man of his word he couldn't have betrayed Stefan & them like that. And becuz of that it cost him :(

That's exactly what I love so much about Elijah. He is a man of honour. We can't say the same about his dear brother, though.
