I have a 질문 about the TARDIS and how it translates...

Say you're the Doctor's companion, and 당신 know two languages fluently, like from birth because 당신 were raised with two cultures. Would 당신 hear everyone speak to 당신 in English for the rest of your life? I mean, my parents speak to me in Spanish, and I respond in English, so now I'd always hear them in English, and they'd hear me in Spanish?(Their native language was Spanish) 또는 would I be able to hear and speak both languages normally? Just something that has been running through my mind lately.

The Tardis translates for the companions only as long as they are with the Doctor and near the Tardis.
Example, in The 크리스마스 Invasion, the aliens beemed Rose and the Tardis up to thier ship. The Doctor was having problems with his regeneration. Rose could not understand anything the alien said. Inside the tardis the Doctor breathed in the steam from the spilt tea. This healed him and restablished his link to the tardis. As soon as that happened, Rose, & the Prime Minister heard the alien in English. It's a telepathic link that depends on a connection with the Doctor and the Tardis.
