Actually those are not Disney but Ghibli movies. And don't give Disney credit that a master storyteller Miyazaki created. I like both they are very nice. I like Spirited Away a lot more though. @nysfboy328 and @KataraLover they are not ugly and stop being bias against the animation. It's not your usual Disney animation crap where you get princesses with unrealistic body proportions. Calling Ponyo "cheap" is about the most ignorant thing you can say. This animation is rich and stunning with great details and colors. If you think it's "cheap" that you are blind or ignorant or just bias against anime. @KataraLover Both TLM and Ponyo are based on Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid. Ponyo doesn't need to be and no where near the same as The Little Mermaid. Both are very different and their own version of TLM. This movie is made for little kids and made to be enjoyed by small children. Ponyo and TLM have different target viewers.

This time pay attention to the details like the water and the little objects. The many colors that they use. The realism of the water is way more realistic than TLM. Also the landscape and the under the sea view is beautifully animated! Calling it cheap is a proof if having no taste.

SNOW WHITE - now before I begin writing about Snow White, let’s put this into context, shall we? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out in the 1930s. THE NINETEEN THIRTIES. You think there were a whole lot of strong females running around in movies from this era? There weren’t. Women had only even had the right to vote in national elections for 17 years. Its a movie based on a fairytale written centuries ago. OF COURSE IT IS NOT GOING TO FEATURE A PARTICULARLY STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER. Now, let’s also keep in mind that Snow White is 14. Basically a child. And when her stepmother tried to KILL HER, she ran off into the forest and survived long enough to find a place to stay and people to support her. In fact, she does more to support the dwarfs than they do to help her. Yes, she is saved by her beauty, but let’s keep in mind that she met the prince before she “died” and so he isn’t only judging her by her face.

AURORA - Aurora is cursed at birth by a witch who was pissed she didn’t get invited to her mutherfucking birthday party. THATS THE WHOLE REASON. SHE DIDNT GET AN INVITE SO SHE COMES A BURSTIN IN TO LAY DOWN SOME SHIT. So Aurora can’t even help what her fate will be because it is predestined for her. She lives almost alone in the forest. And what is this “owner” shit?? Prince Philip is FUCKING BADASS and saves Aurora from a DRAGON. And again, this movie was made in the 1950s. Still not a notoriously strong time for women.

And yes, I do agree with Spirited Away and Ponyo are amazing movies, but don't go insulting my girl Snow White because I will find you and cut your insides out.

I'm not taking my words back about Snow White and Sleeping Beauty being the worse Disney movies yet. They have nothing to offer but the worse romance stories and most basic stories ever. Saying that Ponyo or Spirited Away are worse that those two and Cinderella is the funniest thing I ever heard. So much heart a soul was put in to those two with a lot more imagination than those 3 combined. Anybody who claims it is clearly bias.

ARE YOU GONNA TELL ME THAT PHYSICAL ATTRACTION NEVER HAPPENS IN THE REAL WORLD BECAUSE IT DOES. And then they spent hours together in a garden dancing and talking and he wants to marry her because he loves her OUT OF ALL THE GIRLS IN THE KINGDOM he picks her and he doesn’t even care where she came from. He doesn’t even know her name. So he uses what he can to find her and thats a shoe. Also, watch the Cinderella sequels because the prince sure as hell isnt only interested in her for her looks. Cinderella got her happy ending because she worked hard for it and DESERVED IT and never gave up hope.

Ariel saves her prince when HE ALMOST DROWNS in the ocean after being hypnotized and almost married off to an evil sea witch in disguise. Ariel followed her heart instead of doing what her parent said she had to. Ariel stood up and got what she wanted. Yes, Ariel is silly and cute BUT SHE IS ALSO A BADASS WHO STANDS UP TO A HUGE ASS SEA WITCH WITH AN ALL POWERFUL TRIDENT

I love Disney, did I say I don't? Ghibli and Disney are equally good to me. Yes Spirited Away is for little kids but it's also for adults. That's the thing... Spirited Away is a pretty mature and complex story a Chihiro is a great role model and a way better heroin than those 3. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are my least favorite Disney movie and they will always will be. And I think Ponyo is better than any of those three. You don't like that? Well sorry. From Urban Dictionary: "Otaku is extremely negative in meaning as it is used to refer to someone who stays at home all the time and doesn't have a life (no social life, no love life, etc)" If that doesn't apply to you, then you really shouldn't use that word out of context. I love anime, but that doesn't mean I use the word Otaku to describe myself.

^ Honetsly I don't really think it's a negative word. I know in Japan it is but I live in America where the word is used by many fans and is not negative. Another way to define it is someone who's strongly invested in their hobby. There can a be a computer otaku or a sports otaku, but for some reason it's mostly used for anime. If it's negative in Japan that don't use it in Japan. In US, however, that's not offensive. Weaboo is offensive but to describe the type of people who think they're Japanese just because they watch anime. I don't think that, so I'm not one. Nerd, geek, otaku... Whatever! I haven't seen Spirited Away, and I didn't finish Ponyo.
Though it didn't look that great in my opinion. There wasn't much detail to the animation, and it failed to keep me entertained. Don't get me wrong, I don't need an explosion every five seconds to keep my attention. I absolutely love Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, and other "slow moving" movies. I guess I should finish watching it sometime.
Anyway, I don't personally consider Ghibli movies Disney movies.
