Sleeping Beauty with Maleficent (1959)
The film was directed 의해 Les Clark, Eric Larson, and Wolfgang Reitherman, under the supervision of Clyde Geronimi, with additional story work 의해 Joe Rinaldi, Winston Hibler, Bill Peet, Ted Sears, Ralph Wright, and Milt Banta. The film's musical score and songs, featuring the work of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, are arrangements 또는 adaptations of numbers from the 1890 Sleeping Beauty ballet 의해 Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
Sleeping Beauty was the first animated film to be photographed in the Technirama widescreen process. The film was presented in Super Technirama 70 and 6-channel stereophonic sound in first-run engagements. Only one other animated film, Disney's The Black Cauldron (1985), was shot in Technirama. After many childless years, King Stefan and 퀸 Leah welcome the birth of their daughter, Aurora. They proclaim a holiday for the high and low estate to pay homage to the princess. At the gathering of the christening 의해 everyone in the kingdom, she is betrothed to Prince Phillip, the young son of King Hubert, so that the kingdoms of Stefan and Hubert will be forever united. Also attending are the three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, who have come to bless the child with gifts. The first fairy, Flora, gives the princess the gift of beauty, while the 다음 fairy, Fauna, gives her the gift of song. Before Merryweather is able to give her blessing, a wicked fairy named Maleficent appears and pretends to be gracious about her having been left out. The evil fairy then curses the princess, proclaiming that, while she will indeed be beautiful and graceful, before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. Merryweather is able to use her blessing to weaken the curse, so that instead of death, Aurora will fall asleep from which she can be awakened 의해 true love's kiss. Though King Stefan orders all spinning wheels in the kingdom to be burned, the three 요정 know Maleficent's spell cannot be stopped that easily and devise a plan to protect Aurora. They disguise themselves as peasant women and with the King and Queen's consent they sneak Aurora away with them to a woodcutter's cottage in the forest until her sixteenth birthday passes.
As the years pass, Maleficent rages to her beastial minions the sheer impossibility of how the princess has managed to evade her for so many years. Her bumbling guards reveal that they had been looking for a baby the whole time, not realizing that the princess would have grown up. Disgusted at their idiocy, Maleficent dispatches her pet raven to search.
Years later, Aurora, renamed Briar Rose, has grown into a beautiful young woman with the blessings that Flora and Fauna bestowed to her. Sweet and gentle, she dreams of falling in 사랑 one day. On her sixteenth birthday, the three 요정 ask Rose to gather berries in the forest so they can prepare a surprise party for her. While 노래 in the forest, Rose attracts the attention of Prince Phillip, now a handsome young man, as he is out riding his horse, Samson. When they meet, they instantly fall in love. Realizing that she has to return home, Rose flees from Phillip without ever learning his name, but asks him to come to her cottage that evening. While she is away, the fairies' quarrel over whether Aurora's 겉옷, 가운 should be 담홍색, 핑크 또는 blue draws the attention of Maleficent's pet raven, revealing the location of the long-missing Aurora. Back at home, the 요정 tell Rose the truth and escort the now-heartbroken princess back to her parents. Meanwhile, Phillip tells his father of a peasant girl he met and wishes to marry in spite of his prearranged marriage to Princess Aurora. King Hubert tries to convince Phillip to marry the princess instead of the peasant girl, but fails.
In a room within the palace, Maleficent lures Aurora away from the 요정 through a secret entrance behind a fireplace and up a staircase to an empty room, where an 마법에 걸린 사랑 spinning wheel awaits her. Aurora touches the spindle, pricking her finger and completing the curse mere moments before sundown. The good 요정 place Aurora on a 침대 in the highest tower and place a powerful charm on all the people in the kingdom, causing them to fall in a deep sleep until the spell is broken. Before falling asleep, King Hubert tells Stefan of his son being in 사랑 with a peasant girl, which the 요정 overhear. The 요정 realize that Prince Phillip is the man with whom Aurora has fallen in love. However, Prince Phillip, arriving at the peasant girl's home, is kidnapped 의해 Maleficent and her minions to prevent him from breaking her spell.
The 요정 discover Phillip's hunting 캡, 모자 in the ravaged woodcutter's cottage and realise that Maleficent has taken Phillip prisoner. They then journey to the Forbidden Mountain and sneak into Maleficent's 성 to rescue him. They follow Maleficent to the dungeon where she taunts Phillip (showing him the peasant girl he fell in 사랑 with was really the princess who now sleeps, saying she plans to keep him locked away until he's an old man on the verge of death then release him to meet his love, who will not have aged a day), and then she leaves him, laughing with delight at his rage. The 요정 enter the chamber, release the prince, and arm him with the magical Sword of Truth and the Shield of Virtue. Phillip and the 요정 then escape from the prison cell and encounter Maleficent's minions who try to stop Phillip from escaping. After their failed attempts with help 의해 the fairies, Maleficent surrounds Stefan's 성 with a forest of thorns, but when that fails to stop Phillip, Maleficent transforms into a gigantic dragon to battle the prince herself. Ultimately, Phillip throws the sword, blessed 의해 the fairies' magic, directly into Maleficent's heart, causing Maleficent to fall to her death from a cliff and turn to ash.
Phillip enters the 성 and goes up the highest tower to awaken Aurora with a kiss. The spell over her is broken and everyone else in the 성 also awakens too. The royal couple descends to the ballroom, where Aurora is happily reunited with her parents. The 요정 resume their quarrel over the color of Aurora's dress, the last color to appear being pink. Aurora and Prince Phillip live happily ever after.
The Return of Jafar (also known as 알라딘 2: The Return of Jafar) is a 1994 American animated film that is a direct-to-video sequel to the 1992 animated film Aladdin, both produced 의해 The Walt 디즈니 Company. The film was released on May 20, 1994 and serves as the origin of the 알라딘 animated series. Another direct-to-video sequel, 알라딘 and the King of Thieves, followed in 1996.
The film centers on Jafar, the villain from the original film, trying to gain his revenge against 알라딘 and his companions, Princess Jasmine, Genie, Abu, Carpet, the Sultan, and Iago (now turned against Jafar), and become the ruler of Agrabah.
It was the first 디즈니 direct-to-video animated feature release, and was released on Special Edition DVD (with "Aladdin:" added to the title), with digitally restored picture and remastered sound. The Special Edition DVD along with the other two films in the series went back to the 디즈니 둥근 천장, 금고 on January 31, 2008 in the U.S., and February 4, 2008 in the U.K.[1] The trailer of the film was seen on the 1994 release of The 여우 and the Hound.
This was the first and only 알라딘 full-length production without the original voice of Genie, Robin Williams. He was replaced 의해 Dan Castellaneta (best known for voicing Homer Simpson), who also voiced the Genie in the animated series as well as in Kingdom Hearts. Williams returned as the Genie in 알라딘 and the King of Thieves.
This was also the first 알라딘 full-length production without the original voice of Sultan, Douglas Seale. He was replaced 의해 Val Bettin, who also voiced the Sultan in the series' animated series and in 알라딘 and the King of Thieves. A clan of bandits, led 의해 the incompetent Abis Mal, return to their hideout, only to have the brunt of their loot taken 의해 알라딘 and Abu. 알라딘 distributes the treasure amongst the poor of Agrabah - with the exception of a jewel flower, which 알라딘 gives to Jasmine.
Meanwhile, in the desert, Iago manages to dig himself and Jafar's genie lamp out of the sand, where they were exiled 의해 the Genie. Jafar orders Iago to release him, but Iago rebels against Jafar and throws the lamp into a nearby well. He returns to Agrabah, hoping to gain favor with Aladdin, in order to return to the palace. When he encounters Aladdin, his claim of being a slave under hypnosis does not fare well and is pursued. 알라딘 runs into Abis Mal and his bandits, but is inadvertently rescued 의해 Iago. 알라딘 returns to the palace and jails Iago, promising to allow a fair trial. He and 재스민 속, 재 스민 are greeted 의해 the Genie, who has returned from seeing the world and is content with staying with his friends.
At a special 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 held in Aladdin's honor, the Sultan announces that he wants to make 알라딘 his new grand vizier. Trying to draw on the good mood, 알라딘 attempts to persuade the Sultan to forgive Iago, but Iago inadvertently ruins the 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 when Rajah chases him into the room. The Sultan and 재스민 속, 재 스민 are furious at Aladdin, and 재스민 속, 재 스민 leaves the room heartbroken that 알라딘 did not trust even her about this. With Iago's help, though, 재스민 속, 재 스민 eventually reconciles with Aladdin.
While Abis Mal is washing himself at a well, he finds Jafar's lamp and when it is rubbed, Jafar appears as an abominable genie. Although bound 의해 the laws of obedience, Jafar manipulates his master into wasting his first two wishes, but forms an alliance to the end of exacting revenge upon Aladdin. The pair travel to Agrabah, where Jafar reveals himself to Iago and coerces him into complying with his schemes. The 다음 day, 알라딘 and the Sultan depart to have a discussion about Iago's fate, while Jafar confronts the Genie and Abu in the Palace gardens and imprisons them.
When 알라딘 makes good progress with his discussions with the sultan, he is ambushed 의해 Abis Mal, who is supported 의해 Jafar's sorcery. The Sultan is kidnapped and 알라딘 thrown into the raging river. Jafar frames 알라딘 for the alleged murder of the sultan 의해 leaving fake evidence and disguises himself as 재스민 속, 재 스민 to implicate Aladdin. 알라딘 is thrown into the dungeon, to be executed 의해 beheading come morning.
In the dungeon, Iago chooses to side with Aladdin's 프렌즈 의해 releasing the Genie to save Aladdin. Once everyone is freed, 알라딘 decides to destroy Jafar, which could only occur 의해 destroying his lamp. Jafar and Abis Mal celebrate Aladdin's death, but Jafar demands to be set free. Abis Mal hesitates, being suspicious of Jafar's motives. 알라딘 attempts to steal the lamp, but is discovered and is blown out of the 왕좌, 왕위 room and into the palace garden 의해 Jafar. Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, Abu and Carpet engage Jafar in combat, but even when bound 의해 the rules of the Genie, he easily outmatches them, using his tremendous powers to stop them from obtaining the lamp. His indiscriminate use of power opens a fissure in the ground which is filled with magma. Thoroughly trapped, Aladdin, Jasmine, the Genie, and Abu face certain death when suddenly Iago reappears and grabs the lamp. Jafar blasts him, leaving him for dead, but Iago manages to recover and uses his last ounce of strength to kick the lamp into the magma. The lamp is destroyed, along with Jafar.
Iago recovers from his injuries, since a genie cannot kill. 알라딘 announces to the Sultan that he is not yet ready to become a grand vizier, because he first wants to see the world. 재스민 속, 재 스민 declares that she will 가입하기 him, but Iago objects to this and continues to rant as the film ends.
