BY FAR! "MJ" sucks and just another example of how Mary Jane Watson continues to get shit treatment in live-action. Zendaya's stale and wooden acting doesn't help this already terribly written character. Mulan is absolutely AWESOME!
To me, comparing those two is like comparing being dipped in acid and being burned alive. Both are insufferable but pick a little of two evils. Raimi's at least had a great actress and did (While HORRIBLY) try to make her like her comic book self by having her be from a sad background but still able to be nice, kind, and positive. It was one of the many reasons Mary Jane in the comics is a great character with depth. She was shit in the Raimi movies but at least the actress could act, she had at least ONE thing that gave some kind of depth that the comic book character had, and wasn't just made the polar opposite of who she was by making her a cheap Daria knock off (Only without being clever or entertaining). But still, neither one is a good representation of Mary Jane Watson.
Personally Zendaya's MJ was more memorable than the original one. I can remember the original Spider-Man, Green Goblin, even Topher Grace's Venom. But Mary-Jane? All I remember is her getting kidnapped a lot and wanting to be an actress.
Neither are memorable to me. It's a shame because Mary Jane from the comics and a lot of the animated shows is awesome. I hate that they really give her shit treat in live-action. Also, MCU's Spiderman seems like a whitewashed Miles Morales rather than Peter Parker. At least to me.... and my girlfriend.
