There was a time when I thought it wasn't Mulan now I agree she is.

Anyone care to explain Anna being #1? I'm just curious.

Anna first? I agree with dimitri: I'd like to see the reasoning behind it.

Anna number 1? How? She constantly has to save a guy who is more experienced than her! Feminism is about equality, not about making women look WAY better than the men, which Anna and the entire movie of Frozen do. They make the females look good but make the males look like either complete idiots, gross, or deceitful assholes and constantly say that "YOU DON'T NEED A MAN! DON'T MARRY A MAN YOU JUST MET! YOU ONLY NEED SISTERS AND GAL PALS!"

The others are feminist in my opinion but definitely Mulan. I fail to see how Anna is feminist. In fact, she's a faux feminist.

^2 words: Ancient China

And things would be different for Aurora if she did some more action related to the question asked.

Besides, Aurora is NOT shy AT ALL! Just because she was awkward about Phillip doesn't make her shy, it means she at least has the common sense to know stranger danger. She seems quite social from what I've seen of her. Plus like dimitri_ said ANCIENT FREAKING CHINA! Besides, I think the real feminism in Sleeping Beauty comes from the fairies. Not only Aurora, but also Phillip, are basically tools in the plot and the fairies basically do most to almost all of the work in the movie and they don't even fight.

They keep the curse from killing Aurora by having her awake through true loves kiss
They hide and raise Aurora where Maleficent wouldn't find them for 16 years
They try to give Aurora as much freedom as they can while still protecting her
They put the kingdom to sleep, so that in case it takes a while for Aurora to awaken, that everything isn't gone by the time Aurora awakens
They go to save Phillip
They give Phillip his weapons (which he doesn't really use until Maleficent uses her magic)
They overcome all the obstacles that the minions throw at Phillip
Merryweather defeats the annoying raven
AND they enchant the sword, so that it will kill Maleficent because there is no way it would've killed Maleficent if the sword wasn't enchanted

Stops a war, unites two different cultures together (yeah, historically inaccurate, but still...), choses duty to her people over love, the whole movie hints at her being a good possible leader to her people...
