Merida sort of had no choice really - she was just kind of having to undo her own mistake whereas Pocahontas was heroic by standing up to all her friends and family to save John Smith and stop a mistake - I'm not sure how much sense that makes lol posted over a year ago.

	dclairmont picked Pocahontas: If someone could explain why Merida is heroic it would help tbh..all Merida really does is right the wrongs that she committed, while Pocahontas didn't even have to get involved, but ended up saving her tribe from bloodshed and war. posted over a year ago.

	KataraLover picked Pocahontas: BY FAR!!!!!!!!! I prefer Merida as a character but Pocahontas is much more heroic! Besides, I think Merida is a huge damsel in distress that constantly has to be saved and her heroic and bada** skills were falsely advertised. posted over a year ago.

	Tygers_Eye picked Pocahontas: Not that I don't think Merida is brave or heroic either (because I think she is), but Pocahontas got a chance to prove herself more. She saved the life of the man she loved by throwing her head over his, successfully talks her father down, successfully convinces two armies that want nothing more than to exterminate the other to stand down, and was motivated to prevent said fighting even before/without her love's life being in danger. Again, not that Merida doesn't do these things either. She's willing to get married to end the fighting between the clans (until her mother offers an alternative), saves her mother from getting killed by her father, and defeats her father at sword fighting to keep him from blowing past her and killing her mom anyway. "Don't you dare hurt my mother!" (Of course, then the boys and Mor'du show up to prove who Elinor is, but still.) posted over a year ago.
