I think this movie teaches children and adults alike that not everything is as it appears, and that you shouldn't judge people, or animals or even inanimate objects based on their appearances. It also teaches them to ignore any initial feelings of repulsion or dislike to get to know the person on the inside, as you may end up liking or even loving them. In my opinion, being able to accept and love people for who they are, not what they look like, is an important quality, and by having it, people can make the world a better place.

It was the first animated movie to ever be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, and it is pretty much the trump card when arguing that Disney movies (Disney Princess movies, in particular) are actually great films and great works of art.

It is actually the greatest DP movie. It's a classic!

It started the renaissance era!

Disney was thinking about canning its animation department before this movie. But because of its sucess they didn't and they started really getting into animation with a new passion. (It was on the special features of The Little Mermaid. I do believe, if I am remembering right.)

Even if it doesn't have to, it actually IS the most important...without it, none of the other would have been even made....

Without Snow White, there maybe no Disney, no Disney equals no happiness, no happiness equals the end of the world. My next choice/s would be The Princess and the Frog and Tangled, they brought Disney back for all those fails of sequels.

To make a tentative ranking:
1. Snow White (because Disney's folly paid off)
2. Cinderella (because the movie rescued the studios after WW2)
3. BatB (because it changed the perception of western animation in general)
4. TLM (Because it rescued the studios in the 90th and started (along with TGMD) the Disney Renaissance
5. Tangeld (because it was the first succesful Disney CGI movie not made by Pixar)
6. Sleeping Beauty (because it is a unique work)
7. PotF (because it tried to reanimate 2D animation...though sadly it didn't really work THAT well, that's the reason it's so low on the list)
7. Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan are not important at all. Well, one could made a case for Aladdin being the highest grossing DP movie, but since Lion King beat it just a year later....

Other than Snow White, of course, but I- don't know, I just didn't want to pick it. Anyway, this one started the Renaissance and was what revived the Disney animation studios.

D: Uhm, well I can't really choose. SW started it all, Cinderella and TLM both saved the company, Tangled brought back respect for the studio, SB was a revolutionary piece of art, BatB changed animation forever, Patf/Aladdin/Pocahontas were important for diversity, Mulan was important for girl power... I CAN'T DECIDE!!
