ApplesauceDoctr Nice article! My thoughts on these movies are all over the place. I really like the original Sleeping Beauty, but really *dis*like Maleficent; I almost can't watch it. I like the new Cinderella and think it made good updates, but the original probably sticks out in my mind more. And I love the BatB remake, even though I had no interest in it at first. It's a tough call for me between that and the original!

PrincessAyeka12 I didn't like Maleficent. They changed all of the characters personalities. I'm very loyal to the animated Sleeping Beauty. Unless one day they make an actual remake of Sleeping Beauty and give Aurora more screen time. I think that's why my favourite remake is Cinderella, because they cut all of the mice scenes out and giving Ella more screen time.Although I love the animated version of Cinderella too. So it's a tie for me Beauty and the Beast, I have mixed feelings about. Some parts worked better in the animation version. Emma's acting was wooden. Poor choice for Belle. The narration felt out of place. I didn't like the Beast in the remake. He's too human as a beast. Which doesn't make sense in the remake's plot - especially when one of the objects says over the years due to the curse, they started to become less human. So if the Beast is apart of the curse, why isn't he loosing his humanity? When he shouted at Belle to "get out" - he sounded pathetic. Just a whiny spoilt temper tantrum. Nothing inhumanly scary about it. So why was she running away?! This is why I prefer 1991 Beast.

deedragongirl ^^ I have to agree, especially the beast himself. This is why I wrote an article several months prior about who will play the Beast because I wasn't very happy with Dan Stevens' portrayal, I would definitely go for Gerard Butler because he played a sympathetic character in the Phantom of the Opera back in 2004, his voice and acting is gruff and very convincing for the Beast/ Prince Adam if it wasn't for Dan himself!

MissCinico I liked CInderella, but I found the others sub-par, which is hilarious because the box office results say otherwise. Anyway, I liked your article! It's about time someone acknowledge the live-action counterparts to the DPs.

SarahCorine I prefer the animated versions over the live actions because I grew up with them and sometimes, you just can't beat a classic. I wasn't too impressed with Maleficent when I first watched it, but it grew on me. I thought Angelina Jolie did a great job portraying her character. They made the three fairies dumb as ever so I wasn't too pleased with that. Aurora didn't look too much like Aurora. She seemed kinda dim witted too. I liked the idea of giving Maleficent a love interest and maybe the reason she started to love Aurora is because of what she had with her father and maybe she thought Aurora might have been her kid if only things with her dad worked out differently. I think Stephan was a greedy jerk and I couldn't stand him for hurting Maleficent. Overall it was pretty ok. I'd watch it again. I only watched Cinderella once so I'd have to watch it again to offer a legit opinion but from what I remember, it's my least favorite of these three movies. They made Cinderella too perfect. She has no flaws and that's not at all like animated Cinderella. I don't know where the butterflies came from so I don't understand her dress. I feel like the kinda ruined it. Cinderella's dress transformation has been said to be Walt Disney's favorite piece of animation. I wish they had created the dress to look a little more like the animated version. Don't get me wrong, what they did come up with is pretty. I just would have like to see it look more like the classic dress we know. Beauty and The Beast is my favorite DP movie and Belle is tied with Snow for my favorite DP, so this is the one I was looking most forward too. It was cute, but I was kinda disappointing. Mostly in Emma Watson's acting. I don't think she captured Belle's personality at all. Not even close. I also think they didn't recreate Belle's dress that great. Look at Maleficent. Her outfit is an exact copy. You just can't mess with a classic sometimes even when you do recreate it. I didn't have a problem with Beast. I thought he looked fine although I wasn't too fond of his human acting. Just my thoughts. Good article.

JefefersonFan99 A tie between Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. Maleficent is so awful: King Stefan was a tyrant and a one dimensional character (he wasn’t fully developed in the original either but has some personality).
