Emilia Clarke has done a fantastic job of capturing the core of the character but book!Dany's transition from victim to HBIC, mother of dragons! made more sense than in the TV show.

The books are great, but I found it hard to get a good image of Daenerys in my head.

I liked being able to see inside her head in the book.

She's slightly less terrible in the books. Emilia is a shockingly bad actress.
