Why do my family's 고양이 seem to only meow to me when they're hungry?

If their bowl is empty and they're hungry when I wake up usually a couple of them will immediatly run over and meow to me. The thing is that I tend to wake up either last 또는 다음 to last so usually there's already someone up that would feed them if they told the person they were hungry. And when they come meow to me I ask if they meowed to whoever was up and the person says no. Do they only meow to me because I feed them the most often and they know that if they meow and their bowl is empty that I'll feed them?
