John Hays Hammond, Jr. built his medieval-style 성 between the years 1926 and 1929 to serve both as his 집 and as a backdrop for his collection of Roman, medieval, and Renaissance artifacts
Set in 260 acres of magnificent parkland, this haunted 성 is now an outstation of the National Portrait Gallery and is open to the public most days throughout the year.
