I didn't want to accept it myself, and I know that no one else here will either, but I think Avril's days of huge success are over. She is no longer appreciated 의해 the general public. I thought she might've made a big comeback with Goodbye Lullaby, but obviously that hasn't gone so well, even though both singles released so far are upbeat and catchy. Apparently, as 당신 all probably have noticed, the majority of the world would rather listen to this: link and this: link and let's not forget, this: link rather than this: link 또는 link.

Had GL been released a couple years ago, back when Avril was still well-known, it would have been much 더 많이 successful. Why RCA and the radio stations haven't even tried to bring back her fame, which would also bring in money, I don't know, but I do know that the world of 음악 has been taken over 의해 Gaga and 케샤 and Bieber and all them, and as hard as we've tried to fit Avril back in with them, it hasn't really worked. Now, I'm not 글쓰기 this for the purpose of bringing us all down 또는 anything, but it's like our efforts are futile and it's just wasting our own time. I mean, just look at what happened at the MMVAs. Avril 팬 totally busted themselves voting for her, and even though she won, MuchMusic said differently and completely ignored us. The thing is, that incident isn't going to be the last.

I guess my point is, that even though we probably aren't going to get her any 더 많이 publicity 의해 putting in extra effort, we can still support her in our own way, like on Fanpop, and know that she's still one of the most talented artists out there, whether the rest of the world sees it 또는 not. I think we should just try and stay away from voting and all that, unless it's just for fun and won't be used for anything, because I can guarantee that the 다음 award show Avril's on will do the same thing as the MMVAs. Who knows, maybe some miracle will happen and her 다음 single/album will be hugely significant to the world. We'll just have to wait and see, but not get our hopes up too high.

nevermore People like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga are currently on top. And when you're on top, there's nowhere to go but down. A few years from now, they too will be forgotten about. Anyways, Avril's declining popularity hasn't changed my opinion towards her or her music. In fact, I love her even more now that she's released four great albums.

Magica ^ Yeah, same here. No matter how popular she is, I still love her and her music. And yeah, all the huge stars will die out eventually, but that's because a bunch of new ones will emerge and take the spotlight.

emmett I think the best part of Avrils career is over too :/ Despite all the Little Black Stars working hard to try and bring her back, like you said, it hasn't worked as well as we would have liked. However I still love her as much as I did when she was popular, nothing had changed for me. I hope she still continues to make music! Who knows, maybe when she leaves RCA after her 5th album she'll get better promotion? :)

Magica ^ Yeah, I hope so. But I'm actually okay with her not being popular, because that means the radio won't overplay her songs and make me sick to death of them... Although I do hear My Happy Ending and Complicated on there sometimes. But none of her new songs.

123a I would sometimes say that Avril's career is over, but then I realize how much we try to bring her back to the top and work hard on doing that. MMVA showed me how real music died. I also went down when Brtiney lost. Some things just don't work even when you work real hard. I will still support Avril no matter what, nothing has changed since I became a fan of her. Nothing. All we have to do is to make Avril feel that she is still a queen in our eyes. Even if she didn't win any awards or her songs aren't played on the radio.

Magica ^ Yep, that's what I'm trying to say with this. It's just that some people still believe that we can still bring her to the top with that kind of stuff. I just don't want to see them waste their time anymore by putting in all that extra effort.

Wanda5 I don't mind if Avril isn't in the charts or if she isn't hugely successful! As long as she writes good music that us fans like its all good! :)

Magica True. But sometimes I think she tries too hard. Not that it's a bad thing, but like with her upcoming album. She's going to make it another Best Damn Thing, and on top of that I don't think she'll release any more singles on GL since the rest aren't upbeat. Seems like she's trying real hard to get more publicity, even though it probably won't happen.

Magica LG was more serious. Sk8er Boi was really the only "fun" song on there.

viju I think I agree with all the stuff you all said. But I guess this is like the [b]nature[/b] of Music Industry. Christina Aguilera - A great pop musician with great talent, where is she these days..? Britney Spears - another pop musician, she's also lost somewhere. Same thing is happening with Avril. It's like something, each musician has to undergo with. I think, same thing may happen with Gaga, Ke$ha and Beiber. People these days, like her, but they don't care to listen to her stuff anymore. They'd rather listen to Poker Face, Tik tok and Baby. How much of what you now hear can you actually [b]really call music?[/b] Sounds generated in a recording studio, tweaked and altered by technicians. Its all about the money now. Technically it's still music but it all lacks depth and emotion. It's like someone said to me - [i]"Let the people swim in the shallow end while they're young, most will eventually look to swim in the deep end when they're older"[/i] Pop music is terrible these days. The music lacks any real emotion and soul. Sure the beats are catchy, but the music itself doesn't mean anything. It seems like every major artist comes out of nowhere these days and is popular in a couple of months. Compare that with Avril music that came out in past and people still love it. [b]*Sigh*[/b] All we can do right now is just support her as far as we can. I'm not saying to lost our hope and faith in her. I have [b]blind faith[/b] in her. We just should not get our hopes high. As for Avril, she is doing her best, giving her best, just the world is not accepting it.

viju Take it for a LIVE example. I was seeing newspaper, there was a huge info about the MMVAs in the two pages. I can see Selena, Beiber, Gaga, Cody Simpson, Nina Doberv pictures in it. And I read those two pages, there wasn't even name of "Avril"!!

Magica ^ That's gay. Yeah, I'm just hoping that we at least get some new artists with talent who make it into the spotlight. Like Avery.

viju @Magica: Hmmm...it is. Yeah, I agree. Avery totally reminds me of Avril. Her songs are upbeat though, but it has meaning. She has released 3 songs so far, and 3 of them are upbeat. I hope she continues making cool stuff. :)

knowthetruth well i guess 200000 people making more than one vote is insane thinking that its alright to do that. i mean you did it at the start of her career and it wasn't right then. How stupid to rig something like that or anything you guys lost your minds and its sad. How Avril has seen her fans for who they are and stays away from them so sorry to break your heart guys just send your cash to Avril and don't touch her.
