kbrand5333 Okay, I figured out today what has been bugging me this whole time. Apart from poor deceived Arthur, I mean. Gwen thinks she hates Arthur. Presumably she does not remember ever having loved him (see teaser quote where she says she never was his). So how the hell does she know how he'll be expecting her to act? How does she know what to say, what to do so as not to raise suspicion? Or does she think she's been faking it all along? I'm sure I'm over-thinking this and am once again expecting too much from the Merlin writers/directors/producers.

Bonne-Bell I think you're expecting too much from the Merlin ptb. They probably didn't think this through at all when they were writing this storyline. But judging from her conversation with Morgana at the end of 5x06, I think she thinks that before she was blind to Arthur's "evilness" (cause from her perspective, Arthur's the problem) and that Morgana has helped to open her eyes to how Arthur really is. She does seem to have some memory of her past because in 5x08, she reminded Leon of how they used to go frog catching. But I think the nature of the enchantment is that she now thinks that her past was all a lie and that Arthur and the rest were deceiving her the whole time and were her enemies all along. So she knows how he'll be expecting her to act because she does have a memory of her old self and how her old self would have acted. But to her that old self was living a lie and didnt' realize that Arthur was the enemy until Morgana showed her the "truth". So maybe that's where the "I was never yours" is coming from too.

EPaws EXPECTING TOO MUCH LOVE...these are idiots that were given PLATINUM to work with and proceeded to SHIT ON IT. Not bright people. That is why the series never became anything other than niche appeal. Had it been in CAPABLE hands the BBC would have been grovelling at their feet and this series would have been WATER COOLER fodder after every episode. That was not its destiny with the chimps at the helm who opted for cheap and repetitive and totally unprogressive.
