Becca let out a furious breath. She had no idea how they had found her, but she was getting really ticked off. Always so confident, the Hand was one to be reckoned with. Becca knew that from experience. She swung her body into the air, grabbing the hand holds bolted to the ceiling. She moved to the ropes, strapped her feet in, and hung upside down. She needed to think, relax. But this wasn't helping. Her mind was too shaken. She needed to calm it. And only one thing worked. Swinging down, Becca exited the room. She grabbed her keys, left a note for the others, and headed out. She drove a distance away and parked her bike beside a 캔디 shop. She walked the last fifteen 분 into the horse ranch, breathing in the scent. She greeted a few people before going up to a young stable hand. His freckled face was tanned and his brown hair was hid in a black hat. But his green eyes sparkled when he saw her.
“Hey Becca!”
“Hey Sam. I need a horse. Fast, strong, untamed. 당신 got any I can ride?”
“We have one. C'mon. I'll show you.”
Becca followed him to a corral. Inside was a single horse. It was coal black with white stockinged hooves. It's blue eyes were free and wild, like the sea. There was a white mark on it's forehead, shaped like a bird with wings outspread. It was beautiful and Becca fell in 사랑 with it.
“Oh my gosh. It's perfect,” she whispered in awe.
“He's a wild stallion. Caught him this morning. I knew 당신 would 사랑 him so we never named him. That's your job. If 당신 want him.”
“How much?”
“Five hundred. An extra thousand if 당신 want to house him here.”
“I'll take him.”
“Alright. I'll go tell the boss.”
Sam ran off and Becca looked the horse over again.
“So beautiful,” she whispered.
The stallion nickered. Becca reached her hand out as it came close to her. With slow movements, Becca took a sugar cube out of her pocket, feeding it to the beauty. It took it from her hand and locked eyes with her. It was an instant bond. One Becca enjoyed deeply. The owner, Mr. Fenton, walked over.
“You lookin to buy that horse?” he asked.
Becca nodded happily.
“Yes sir.”
“Alright. I have the papers here.”
Becca signed and paid the man. The horse watched her curiously. When the gate opened so Becca could slip inside, the horse watched her. She looked at him, enjoying the way it held her gaze.
“What are 당신 going to name him?” Sam asked as he watched her approach the stallion.
“Vero.”
“Vero?”
“Yes. It's Italian. It means true. This stallion is true. I can sense it.”
“okay. Are 당신 housing Vero here?”
“No. He's mine. Can I get my lead rope and harness?”
“Sure.”
Becca watched the stallion through calm eyes. It watched her in return and moved toward her. As it stepped forward, it's nose touched her face. Becca breathed into it's nostrils, a sign of trust, and the stallion returned the act. Becca petted it's snout, loving the velvety feel. She closed her eyes for a brief second, opening them when the horse nudged her. Becca smiled and fed it another sugar cube. When she got the 마구, 하네스 and lead rope, she attached both to the horse, leading into the trailer hooked to the back of her bike. Making sure it was secure, Becca rode off, back to the base.

Erin searched around the base but couldn't find her leader anywhere. She looked in the front but nothing was there. She went out the back door and froze. Inside the corral, Becca was riding a beautiful stallion. But she was standing on it's back, doing tricks and all sorts of things. Erin cocked her head, staring in wonder. How had Becca learned to do all that? Her leader was skilled far 더 많이 than anyone knew. Far 더 많이 than anyone had believed. But it explained her ability with 말 and how she could be so incredibly strong and balanced. A well of appreciation and respect rose up inside Erin for her leader. She had never expected such talent to exist inside her fearless leader but she supposed it should have been evident.
“Erin?”
Turning her head, Erin looked over at Willow, who was coming out the back door. Erin smirked when Willow froze, eyes on her leader. Both watched as Becca rode the horse faster. Sweat rolled down her forehead and her legs looked a little shaky. But Becca didn't stop and went onto her hands. Her body adjusted to the change rather quickly but the girls took a little 더 많이 time. No matter how long they watched her, Becca always seemed to surprise them. This was just one 더 많이 surprise. And this was one of the biggest they had ever found out. They were so transfixed that neither girl noticed that their leader had stopped and was looking at them.
“Erin? Willow? What are 당신 guys doing?” Becca asked.
Both girls flushed at being found out.
“Um...nothing?” Erin tried.
Becca looked at her with a sturdy look. The horse walked to the fence and Becca jumped to the 상단, 맨 위로 rail. She grabbed a towel and water bottle, watching her to team members pointedly.
“I never knew 당신 could ride like that,” Willow admitted. “We were surprised.”
“Oh. You're welcome to watch.”
“Really?!”
Becca shrugged, taking a drink.
“Sure.”
“Thanks!”
“Oh! I remember why I was trying to find you!” Erin exclaimed.
Becca raised her eyebrows.
“Young Justice is here.”
“Here?! Now?! Why didn't 당신 tell me?! I have to go take a shower!”
Erin smirked and watched Becca run inside and turned to Willow.
“You think we should tell her they'll be here in thirty minutes?” she asked.
Willow laughed and shook her head.
“No way. She'll be on time if this stays our little secret!”
