The rest of the team was away at school, like every other weekday. Therefore, I was alone here at the Cave. I tried to put myself to work, I really did! But it was just so boring with no one here. Even listening to Artemis and Wally argue was 더 많이 exciting. I sat down on the 침상, 소파 and flicked on the news.
“The President has called in the Swat to watch over him while he is in a conference with Wayne Industries, fearful that there may be an assassination attempt on either him 또는 Mister Bruce Wayne, the most eligible bachelor in Gotham at the time” the reporter said. I yawned, then flicked the channel. On Discovery, it was 상어 week. I smiled. Maybe this would be 더 많이 enjoyable after all. Suddenly, a breaking news thing popped up.
“I am sorry to interrupt your regularly scheduled shows, but there has been a shocking discovery. Apparently, there has been a recent assassination attempt in Happy Harbor, New England. A building recently just caught fire, and there is no cause. The building housed some of the researcher’s of Cadmus, a lab here in DC. Civilians are being advised to stay away from the area” The news reporter said, before the channel flipped back to Discovery. I burst from my seat. Finally! Something exciting to do! I ran to the teleporters and teleported to Happy Harbor. I saw the building and quickly ripped off my jacket. I wiped sweat from my brow. I was 40 feet away, yet it still made me weaker then normal. I activated my water bearer’s I looked around and quickly realized I wasn’t near any good 출처 of water. I sighed and put them away. I ran towards the burning building. There was a squeal from one of the higher floors. I looked around; no one was close enough to save the person. I ran in, breaking through the doors. I ran up the emergency stairs and to the floor where I heard the scream. I heard the same scream and burst into a room. A lady with dark hair was on the floor. She had tanned, flawless skin. I ran over to her.
“Take my hand” I coughed. She looked up at me with big, dark eyes that seemed familiar. She grinned viciously and something hard hit me over the back of the head, knocking me out. I woke up in a small room with spiked walls. They started closing in.
“Any last words, 물고기 boy?” a disturbingly familiar voice asked
“Cheshire” I spat. There was a dark laugh. I pushed against the walls, trying to keep them from turning me into an Atlantien shish kabob. I un-sheathed my water bearers and smashed through them. I was in a large corridor. Cheshire emerged from the shadows, followed 의해 Hook. Cheshire lunged at me with her sai’s. She slashed at me, but I countered her attacks with my water-bearer’s. She suddenly ducked and Hook shot his hook at me. I grabbed it and threw him over my head, into a wall. He groaned and stayed down, considering he smashed his head on a metal pipe. I punched Cheshire out, but not before she could 슬래쉬 my arm with her blade. I tied them both up. I heard a faint ticking. I ran down the hall and saw a bomb. There was only fifteen 초 left; not enough to disarm it without Robin. I ran back the way I came and grabbed Hook and Cheshire and jumped out a window as the bomb exploded. I landed on the ground with a loud thump. I looked around, then got up and walked away, leaving Cheshire and Hook there to be dealt with 의해 the League.

I quickly tended my minor wound from my battle with Cheshire. I slumped back down on the 침상, 소파 and flicked on the television.
“Recognized Kid Flash: B02, Robin: B01, Artemis: B07, Super Boy: B05, Miss Martian: B04” the computerized voice said. The team walked in and slumped down around me in the lounge area.
“So, How was your 일 at school everyone?” I asked. They all groaned.
Robin switched the channel to the news.
“What did 당신 do today, Kaldur?”
“-and it seems we have a mystery hero here in Happy Harbor, because we found the assassin Cheshire and her partner Hook tied up and unconscious. I’d like to say Thank 당신 from Happy Harbor, to however did this, and I wish 당신 a great evening” The reporter finished.
“Oh, nothing” I shrugged, smiling.
