Who here thinks Twilight's Edward is a stalker and Jacob is a Pedophile?

If a guy 당신 just met was constantly staring at 당신 and following 당신 and sneaking in your room at night to watch 당신 sleep...would that make him a stalker? And if your mom's friend who has been in 사랑 with her falls for 당신 after he has just removed your infant body from your mom....and imprints himself on 당신 at moment making 당신 his soulmate and then watches 당신 grow up....doesn't that make him a Pedophile? And even if he does look your age he still is 20 yrs older then you....I find that creepy and wrong. What do 당신 think?

In order for Jacob to be a pedophile, he would have to be sexually attracted to a child, but he's not. (It is possible to like a child in a non-romantic 또는 sexual way)
The fact that so many think his admiration is romantic and sexual makes me think so many people are perverts.

There's a difference between being stalked and being followed.
In order to be stalked, the "stalkie" must actually feel threatened 의해 the "stalker's" presence. The law is defined 의해 the person's reaction.
That's why there's no such thing as being "unknowingly stalked"

If a person is not threatened 의해 a person following them, then they are not stalked and nothing can be legally done to stop it. It's not against the law to follow a person who doesn't mind being followed.

당신 may now believe that Bella was stupid for not being threatened 의해 being followed 의해 a guy who was trying to protect her, but that's all on you.

The reason I think Jacob's admiration is romantic and/or sexual is because of the word soulmate. A soulmate (or soul mate) is believed 의해 some to be the person with whom one has a feeling of deep 또는 natural affinity, similarity, love, sex, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, 또는 compatibility. And even if Jacob does not press the issue till the child is older he is still 20 yrs older and he will have been like an uncle to her while she grew up. I would not feel comfortable if one of mine 또는 my husbands good 프렌즈 suddenly showed an interest in one of our daughters and I defiantly would not encourage it. I do not think I am a pervert in thinking there is something wrong with Jacobs feelings for Bella's child, but I might be seeing something 더 많이 sinister there then is really going on. Now when it comes to the Edward situation, how do 당신 know she did not mind being followed? She did not even know at first and what was he protecting her from? Seems to me her life did not become threatened until he came into her life. So is it okay for a guy to "follow" a woman and invade her privacy as long as he says it was 사랑 and he was just doing it to protect her? I am not trying to start a fight 또는 anything but i would just hate for some guys to get it into their heads after seeing girls reaction to twilight that it is okay to stalk a girl as long as 당신 say that 당신 were just protecting her.

I don't believe soulmates have anything to do with sex 또는 romance either. I know Bella wasn't bothered 의해 being followed because she never said she was. I said stalking is defined 의해 the person being followed, not the words the follower uses. If the person being followed isn't bothered, it's not stalking. If she's bothered and feels harassed, and the defenition of harassment fits the situation, it's stalking, regardless of his feelings.

Thank 당신 for your input and after having this conversation I do not have strong feelings of disgust toward Jacob anymore, but I still have no desire 또는 interest in this series. Thank 당신 for your perspective on this subject .

The reasons above were just some of the reasons I do not like Twilight. I have not actually read the 책 and I have no desire to after finding out these things and after watching the first movie.
